Found this little tidbit of info today...don't know if its dated or not.

CERTIFIED RANGE OFFICER, LEVEL ONE. Level One RO's are the mainstay of club level safety and fair play. The Level One course is a two-day event with a full day of classroom instruction covering the rules of our sport as well as the correct and safe way to guide a competitor through a course of fire and then a second day of instruction and critique of technique and rules application at an actual USPSA match. The classes are taught by a certified NROI Range Instructor of which there are only ten in the whole country.

Hope the class goes well. I was hoping to attend but am tied up Saturday and can't make it. I took this class in 2002 with the same instructor, actually, and a couple years later took the Level II "Chief Range Officer" class. Level I is a good class, and like Cliff, I recommend it to all USPSA shooters. Even if you don't want to RO at matches, it gives you a better understanding of the rules of the game that I think is a big help in making most people more comfortable on the range at a match. Of course it is always good to volunteer and run shooters or the clipboard at matches if you feel so inclined!

Troy McManus will be the instructor. He is from the Baton Rouge area and is well respected around the country. He works the Nationals just about every year, either as Match Director, Range Master, Mr. Fix-it, or as a Range Officer. I'm not sure if there are still only 10 in the country, but there aren't that many for sure, so that could still be right.

well this class is over...and it was a good one. Well attended...had a shooter from the Coast and some came from Memphis.

Had about 25 I guess in total. If the Mods wanna put it in the garbage can that will be fine

I did mine Saturday night. I figured that I better do it while the material is fresh in my mind. If I wait 6 months, I'll forget it all...

Glad to hear the class went well.

Just as a helpful tip for those that don't know - the USPSA website has a PDF version of the Rulebook that is searchable. It is on www.uspsa.org, under the menu on the left side of the screen for "Match Rules". Just select the correct version of the rulebook under which you are being tested.

Try the searchable online rulebook, 'Neck. Some questions are harder to search than others, but there is usually one word or term in the question that can be used to only come back with a few results. This is MUCH faster for me and what I do for annual tests to keep my certification.

Thx...I've been using it but some of these scoring penalties scenarios..... wall bash IDK

Plus the way the Q is worded...its easy to read things in that may not really be relevant

Steven finished his test last night, I'm going to check over it and see how he did. Sharon has a couple she's confused on, and Robert had a question on a few but he must have figured out the answer, after I forget to call him back for about 3 days. How did you do, get yours sent in yet?
