Question ???
I would like to place a ad in the local newspaper, Tishomingo County News. Also one in the statewide Mississippi Market Bulletin about joining us on the board.
Would the powers that be allow this?
The local paper would only be a few dollars and the other is free for a subscriber, which I am.
Nothing fancy and don't know if it will even be allowed by the papers. Both have guns for sale section so would put the ad there.
Might get a few members, and if it works others could do the same in their neck of the woods.

Re: Question ???
Sounds legal and moral to me, but I'm no lawyer (and I don't play one on TV.)
PS: Not to hijack, but I get the Market Bulletin, too. For some reason most of the guns listed there seem to be priced about double what they are worth. Not sure if the sellers are just ignorant or if they are just trying to get all they can.

Re: Question ???
NRA-guy you're right about the prices. Also did you note the same phone number for some ad's. Makes me think it's a gunshop of somekind in South Mississippi.

Re: Question ???
Mississippi Market Bulletin is a subscriber based thing. I used to get it.
You can read it free online...just a 2 week old version. Subscribers don't have to pay to run ads...so people run stuff up the tree all the time to see what shakes out.
Have never bought or sold anything with the market bulletin...Folks are real proud of their stuff in there
You'll need to consult with Hammer about it...send him a pm with a link to this thread

Re: Question ???
Something else that is cheap and would help is business cards. Give a box to Moderators to leave in gun stores on the counter in their neck of the woods. Tack up on boards that have stuff locally for sale like in some grocery stores. Plus passing out at gun shows and local clubs.
Note: They never work if left in the box. The idea is to get rid of them all. lol

Go for it BeauBeaux. Redneck has business cards he has left everywhere, plus sent out a lot of them to other members to leave as well.

As was said in another post. We'll run it up the tree and see what shakes out.

Re: Question ???
Tishomingo County News comes out once a week. Early pick up at stores is Wednesday Evening with home delivery Thursdays.
I opted for the bigger ad business card size to be see by more people I hope. It will have the Magnolia and the State Flag like whats on the header for the board. It will run for 3 weeks February 11th, 18th and 25th.
Hammer if it works you should see a new member or two from the county, I hope anyway. PM me your addy and I'll send a copy of each paper to you if you want.
Also if someone has some of the business card they haven't give out. I would like some to leave out in some places in the NE corner of the state.
Will mail off the Mississippi Market Bulletin ad this weekend. Won't know on that one if it will be accepted or not but will try. Surly they will let me know if the answer is no. In their rules section I can see no reason they wouldn't run it

Cap it's fun to help, your welcome.
Didn't know the site wasn't even a year old till reading the thread about reaching 500 members. That's a biggie for sure to grow that fast.

Re: Question ???
msredneck PM sent.
Got the ad ready for the MS Market Bulletin, stamped and will be in the mail tomorrow. Best guess on this is around the March 1st issue or the next for sure. It will be in the Guns & Accessories section. Anyone else get it you can look for our ad. Hope this works some to. BTW you only get a one time run on this, have to resubmit each time. Do it now and a few months later if they allow it to run.

Re: Question ???
I agree about the northern part of the state being better represented.
We'll see how this goes and if not to expensive I'll run the ad in the Corinthian newspaper. It's a daily with much bigger circulation, Alcorn and surrounding counties. Probably be alot more $$$ for that.
Your welcome for the ad's.
