Is this a carry weapon? If so, I'd advise against modding the trigger. Legal stipulations could result should you use it in a SD situation...
That being said, Van's uses a gunsmith out in Utica somewhere. You can drop the gun off there or maybe they could get you in touch with him.

I honestly don't get the "legal" thing people bring up about moding your trigger. regardless if it has a factory trigger or modified trigger, self defense is self defense.

All you need is one bleeding heart lawyer (and we all know there are plenty) to say you had the gun modded into a killing machine and could somehow sway the jury to see you as a cold blooded killer instead of a victim protecting himself. I agree it sux. SD should be just SD, but it aint worth my freedom and right to keep and bear arms to chance what lawyer the person (or their family) gets to sue me for protecting myself. But that's just me...

I have been looking at sending my XD9SC to springfield for a trigger job and night sites. I know you're probably not wanting to go that way, but I can do without that XD for that long. I just know no one else will know the xd better than the guys at springfield.

Re: xdm trigger kit
the trigger kits for the XD and XDM is very easy to install and do it yourself.
I had not done all that much to my XD Service but polish the engagement faces..
Bought the Springer Precision Trigger kit and fitted it myself. only took about 2 hours
its fun to learn how to do that kinda stuff, i know how the gun works inside and out now.

+1 on the springer kit. I put one in mine too. I got the kit that has a pre-polished sear, so all I did was replace parts and take about 20 file swipes on the trigger bar to "fit" the trigger travel. Its a no brainer once you see and understand how the trigger bar functions - its hard to mess it up. You'll get about a 3 to 3.5lb trigger - just right.
$150.00 and an hour or so of your time.
