Still a draw!

Post by spyderhead on Sat Mar 06, 2010 6:16 pm

Just had my Glock 21SF and the XD45 at the range in Clinton today. After 100 rounds through each . . . it is still a draw. However, either of them leave my Colt Commander behind in the dust!

"Colts and Kimbers you show your friends"
"Glocks and XD's you show the Bad Guys"

I think that saying started as a pro Glock thing.
"1911's are what you show your friends, and Glocks are what you show your enemies."

Kind of like the pro Glock saying being "Plastic Fantastic!"
Anti Glock " Combat Tupperware!"

The only difference was it generalized 1911's and specified Glock. It has morphed to include the XD now. Cool!

I like that. Never heard it before. Colts and Kimbers are "pretty" to look at (I guess). Would never trust my life to either of them. XD or Glock? Absolutely. Either one (preferably Glock).

i like glock. they feel better to me. and i trust them more. most people i know have a glock. i would prefer it over an XD. with that said, i do also like the XD, just not as much as the glock. With my hands, nothing in this world feels as good as a GLOCK 19.

This was my first shooting session with a Glock 21SF
Got it Saturday and shot it today. Here is what I did I shot mostly Blazer Aluminum cased ammo trying to make it choke. I got six mags for it and loaded all of them all I did was swab the barrel out and lightly lube the rails. I ran six mags about as fast as I could swap mags out. Not a bobble! I'm liking so far. Shot some Fiochi brass cased stuff of course no problems there either. I then got a little devious. I had some older 45ACP ammo that was corroded and green. It had been sitting in drawer at work, and no one else wanted so what the heck I took it. Well I loaded a mag mixed it with some of the Blazer ammo, and shot it. I couldn't make it choke. I then tried some shooting laying on my back (funny thing about that two shots went into the same hole and third just barely off to the side), and shot it from both sides. The only thing I didn't do was shoot one handed. Oh Well! I have save something for the next trip. I like
That green cased ammo(actually brass) was badly corroded.

Glocks are worse than Teenagers. They will EAT just about anything and want more. They can't get enough.

Yeah me to with a glob of mud in the barrel. unless somebody's reloading skills are sub-par. (i am not pointing fingers)
XD's will eat there share as well.

I agree with G>O>D the only way yo uare going to make a glock choke is with bad marksmanship skills. If I sissy wrist my glock it jams, and so my my 1911s etc.

My buddy got a Glock 22 to carry on duty. When it was new we were having problems with it failing to feed. Finally got it goin after about 500 rounds. Guess it just needed some breaking in?

It all boils down to when its goin to fail, they are machines, they will fail. Just which one fails first.

Shot my XD sunday, got it so hot there was a nice mirage coming off the barrel. Kinda hard to focus on the front sight when its moving on ya lol

That's unusual for a Glock to have to have a break in period like that.

It's good to hear about the XD taking that kind of abuse.
