if you could only have one pistol for the rest of your life what would it be?

Post by bensand26 on Sat Feb 06, 2010 10:16 pm

if you could only have one pistol(as your only firearm), what would it be?
you would use it for target, hunting, self defense, whatever you wanted but ya only got 1 gun.

What gun would it be?
What caliber would it be in?

Pictures are encouraged.

I have to agree with the 4" .357. Full power loads to carry. 180 grain loads to hunt deer and such. .38 special light loads to hunt rabbits and such and plink. .357 is as close to "do it all well" as it gets in a handgun. Great, now I've talked myself into wanting one!

Definately a revolver.

Like the idea of the 357 for capability to shoot lighter 38 spl loads,

BUT

I'm thinkin the Judge with 4" barrel. 45LC and 410 all in one package. To me it would be the ideal gun if only one was available.

what about a pistol instead of a revolver?
what gun and caliber?
i know and understand the benefits of a revolver.
i just want to see what pistol/caliber could be included in this catagory.

Not sure I follow ya. Isn't a revolver a pistol?

Or are ya asking about a semi auto?

Oh... Um... Well... I liked my XDm pretty good. I'd feel comfortable enough to hunt with it if I had to, and ammo is cheap enough to plink if ya want to and it punches a nice hole if ya have to defend yourself with it. It was .40cal

I would probably go with a Glock 20 for the same reasons I would have gone with the .357 revolver. Although, if I had the foresight to convert my full-size 1991A1 to .460 Rowland, I would go with it.
