.22 is 'bout the only thing you can shoot these days. Single six new for $99, can't be beat.

I did some web surfing -- that is a good price. Slotted rear sight or adjustable?

This one is slotted.I missed this gun last year at a even cheaper price crying If you buy the fancy stocks with a 22 mag cylinder about the cheapest you can get out the door is around $160 or higher. This is the el cheapo model, but you can order the 22 mag cylinder from Heritage for around $36(thats tax, title&tagged)LOL.I mean shipped to your front door.
Banged away about 100 rounds with it today,it ain't a Ruger by no means, but for have fun plinker with alot of potential it's a nice little gun.Just wish I'd have bought 2(oh well, have to wait for the next sale)

Not wild about the 22 mag. To expensive to plink. Would probably be a good hide out gun though, I heard they had about the same power as a 38.

Bought my Rough Rider with 6 7/8 inch barrel when I got home from 'over there' in '05. It stays in range bag. Mine has Millett adjustable white outline rear and Williams Firesight up front. It'll shoot the cheapos fine but if you put Thunderbolt or Federal Gold Target in it you'll go right to where you aim. I've shot the plates with mine. Didn't realize at time it was supposed to come with Magnum cylinder but am considering. It had barely been used and still looks good. Remington Golden Bullet works good too.

I'll have to get one on here. Keep the cylinder cleaned on your Heritage so extraction is good. Replacement front sight was better than original. Got it direct from Heritage Manufacturing for $16 total. Elsewhere you will pay more. Looks like orange beacon in late afternoon light. I am considering a 4" with fixed sights for additional shooter.

Thanks sidroski. As I said in earlier post-it's always in range bag. Gonna try to get out this week with it for maybe a box or two. And I, of course, agree msredneck...nothing like a Ruger. Wish I had my Dads' Single-Six. I've been considering Ruger's Blackhawk in .357/9mm(three guns in one).

When I had my gun shop in 1990. We bought a few of these revolvers. We had problems with the actions. I hope the product has been improved.

Have been many rounds through this one without problems. Do you remember if they had the hammer block safeties also on them then. Action has been fine. No hang-ups.
