22 rimfire chamber safety flags

Post by msredneck on Fri Dec 10, 2010 9:06 am

If you are planning on shooting your 22 rifle in any "competitive" event

I'd highly recommend having a chamber safety flag to put in your gun. This helps the RO's ensure that the line is safe before calling down range.

I'm thinking these may even work in semi-auto's like 10/22

A small length of weed wacker cord with a knot ited in it makes a cheap and easy clear chamber indicator for .22 rf firearms.

Yeah, those bright colored weedeater cords are good, easily visible to the RO, that's what we use at SWGC for .22 LR.

We have some from Appleseeds but they suck cause they don't fit right and are a pain in the rump. Weed eater cord would be so much easier to work with.

I "vote" for BRIGHT colored weed wacker cord. I will buy a few feet from someone................

Also, BRIGHT colored zip ties if you can find them.

When you use weed wacker cord in an air pistol or rifle, it has to go all the way through the barrel. This makes sure the barrel is empty.

Doug

scratch

Just for grins, why does it have to come all the way out of the barrel

The chamber flags don't protrude out of the barrel...whats the diff?
