I've also noticed lately -- Midway is emailing me when something from my Wish List goes on sale.

The last few times I ordered from midway, they sent it by the new UPS 'basic'. UPS ships it ground to yourlocal post office and then the usps mails it to you. Adds a day or two, and seems to be the same price that UPS ground used to be.

Definitely MidWay has slower delivery than in years past.

If the charges are excessive, sometimes it's cheaper to order somewhere else, or buy it local. Just a week or so ago they also made it possible to have multiple wish lists. It's complicated, but you can save significant $$ if you watch it closely and game the system a little bit.

Dead balls on. Midway "makes it up" one way or another--in the price, or shipping. I don't usually order from Midway unless I can't find it anywhere else, or their email pops up when somethings on my Wish List go on sale and they qualify for cheap shipping without surcharges. Even then, when you compare them with other vendors, you'll find a Midway sale sometimes doesn't save anything. Midway ain't nearly as bad as Natchez for 'hiding' costs in S&H fees, but it's not like they're just breaking even to ship 'nuisance' orders, either.

If you've got the time and the items you want are carried by Midsouth Shooter's Supply, you can back-order from them without any penalties. They'll even honor your committed price when the back-order comes in, and they'll hold your items to send everything as a single shipment--I've not found another vendor that'll do all that for gratis. During the 'drought', I had bullets back-ordered for about 8 months that were honored at the original price--no small 'loss' for MSS--I had ordered 6,000 178AMAXs that they promised (and sold to me) for $142/1000 when Midway and Natchez posted them at $210/1000 the week they all "took delivery". I compared... shipping charges for the 6,000 fell within $35 from high to low (Natchez highest, MSS 2nd, Midway cheapest by $4 as I recall--I remember it was less than $5), but the $400 I saved with MSS kinda trumped the $4 savings Midway shipping offered.

Under normal circumstances, MSS is my first choice.

You have to watch MidWay especially when they have their promotionals. If you order something without using the promotional code, the shipping will be less than if you order the same items using the promotional code. Also, if you order powder, primers and some other stuff, you will get charged hazmat, regular shipping, special handling and insurance, and an additional shipping all of which will total around $90.00 for an order of around $600.00. I usually order from MidSouth Shooters Supply because their products are cheaper than MidWay for the same item 90+% of the time. I usually save enough to cover the cost of shipping plus some. Also, MidSouth's shipping and handling charges seem to be lower than MidWay for an identical order.

I always order atleast a $100 worth of stuff. Shipping seems to run $14 no matter the size so i never order just one or two things.
