what kind of availabbility do you have with the 5.45x39 ammo other than buying online? any places in North Miss stocking this?

Hornady is making a steel cased round for this caliber now. Gunshows and mail order are probably the best bets on getting ammo , any surplus ive seen in a retail store is priced 3 or more times what it is online.

Thanks, looking at some AK's and good deal on a ak74 but scared to go away from the 7.62x39 format

Academy sells Monarch in that caliber. Cheap too.

Russian surplus @ ammoman.com is $189 shipped for 1080 rds. RGUNS is $139 plus shipping for 1080 rds. Mildly corrosive.
