Bud's has the same gun for $606 w/ free shipping.

Of course I'd have to get it received, but I can get that for $25-30. Say I was in for $640 on a new one, the guy I'm dealing with would have to come off a LOT to get me to bite, especially as it needs a lot of cleaning.

And since Bud's prices are pretty good overall, I might just go with a basic blued one and save even more. Never been much of a stainless guy anyhow. I've got one stainless gun and only have it because I got a HUGE deal on it - like new Ruger SP-101 3" bbl. .357 for $200.

Thanks again.

I'll give you $250 for it thumbs up

No you won't.

Cool

PS, I'll give you $251 for the 101!

You either!

Warning this my first Post, so bare with me lol

If you're going to by used you might as well shop around for springfield or better....I just picked up a used springer milspec for $400 and good friend of mine picked up a used stainless loaded springer for $650 which was like new and I would have bought myself but I didnt have the cash in my pocket when we found it so he bought it. I'm not saying that a Taurus isn't worth buying but one can buy a lot of gun for around 700 bucks if they shop around abit. Also i have delt with Springfields customer service and let me tell you it is pretty much the best customer sevice I have ever received.

Thats just my 2 cents.

For a "budget" 1911 I'd have to look at a Springfield GI model

I've heard good things about the Rock Islands...just have never had one

Also in that price range, I might have to look at Remington's 100th anniversary edition it came out with this year...suppose to be a GI like 1911 with some decent sights

I wasn't necessarily looking for a "budget" 1911.

The main point of looking at the Taurus was that it's the only 1911 that comes ambi from the factory even in it's cheapest models.

Very Happy

I'd sell a Taurus if someone gave it to me.

Find you a springer.

If you're still looking at Taurus, I was just in hunters hollow up in Oxford, brand new pt1911alr model(aluminum frame w/ rail) for $630....if I wasnt holding out for a all steel one!!!

Doubt you'd make that drive for it cuz it wouldn't save any money. Just shows you can find them for very reasonable prices when you least expect it.

XD might be right about the springer....but it's brazillian too! I'll just stick with a Taurus over a springer personally for a 1911...you just get a lot more bang for your buck out of the Taurus, but the CS may or may not be as good...don't know about either from experience

My experiences with Taurus are all positive and the ones sold in the last few years are light years ahead of the older models quality wise. If you look at the features of the PT 1911, you will find that the same features include as standard in a Taurus will in another brand will cost quite a bit more.
