Do You Carry Openly, Or Concealed? What Is Your Age?

I'm curious to see the attitudes about open carry -vs- concealed carry. Please check one, or the other and check a box for age.

No need for shouting/debating. If you'd like to say why carry a certain way....briefly stated, please do. Long post, cut and paste from other websites will be deleted w/o notice.

I carry as allowed by current law. If open carry was allowed I would still carry concealed most times.

i would carry concealed even if the law in MS. didnt make open carry such a grey area. I just feel more mentally comfortable with everyone not knowing I have a weapon on me. (Just my opinion)

I carry concealed where not prohibited by the law. I carry open on my property and on occasion while at friends' property/businesses; at the latter my friends already know or assume I am carrying. If I am carrying concealed when I go to those places I don't necessarily make an effort to "uncover" my firearm. I just feel more comfortable in taking off a coat, for example at a friend's property or business while carrying but would never do so while out shopping, etc.

Cliff I do both, not a big advocate of one way over the other. Winter time, its easy to cover a 45 on your side. Summertime, not so much. Friends know I carry anyway. When concealed MEANS concealed, can do that too. Carelesly concealed most of the time tho, and no one notices. Bruce.

Open carry is easier for me than concealing, and I've done it on occasion. 99% of the time, I'm concealed.

I looked...I don't know of a way to do it...easy to read the math though...right now it's 100% concealed.

Concealed 100% of the time ... Would like the ability to open carry on occassion.

Bunch of us grey hairs on here aint there! If I'm in the house or out in the barn, I open carry some depending on what I'm working on. Otherwise concealed.

When I carry, it's always concealed. I can imagine a situation where I might prefer to open carry (working outdoors on private land, for example), but I haven't been faced with such a situation as of yet.

As soon as I posted that, I realized I was wrong -- I have open carried. The store alarm went off in the middle of the night (and JPD rarely responds other than driving by an hour later). I open carried and went up to the store to check things out, turn the alarm off, and lock everything back up. That's the only time.

Concealed 100% of the time. Nothing against open though. I don't really worry about if I'm printing or uncovered or not 99% of the time either.

Should've made it clear I wasn't talking about private land as I meant in public.

I don't carry open for a number of reasons, but the #1 reason is I don't want the attention...don't want to scare people...I want to mix in with a crowd, b/c if something ever did happen, there's no need to escalate a situation.

The nail that sticks up gets hammered. I like to blend in and go un-noticed.

Carry concealed for the safety of myself and my family...less attention that way

I've been carrying concealed since I was 25 (34 now). In my office 5 of the 7 of us have permits. The other two are pending. I've noticed a dramatic increase in permit holders over the past few years, maybe the word is finally getting out there.

Concealed, I like the "Element Of Suprise".

You really would be shocked how many people DON'T know or even think that it's legal to carry a concealed weapon!

Or, for those that are just barely aware of the Permit's existence, don't even know the basic laws pertaining to where you can carry concealed or even when you need a permit!
