50 hushpuppy?

Post by Beladran on Tue Feb 15, 2011 9:48 am

ok the name sounds retarded but have any of you seen this bullet?? its the easiest 50 whipser to chamber i have ever seen! For those of you that dont know the 510 whisper by JD Jones is a complete PITA to make and is by no means for novices. The HP is made by cutting the neck and shoulder off a 7wsm.. thats all! also works on SA recievers and AR platforms = )

I just stumbled across this and I want one, meaning...is anyone proceeding with this?

Has anyone contacted the manufacturer and see where they are with developement?

300 grn .50 cal bullet at 2300 fps from a 16" AR15. Over 3,000 ft/lbs energy. AP, API, or APIT rounds can be shot, although they have to be single loaded...

I have a .458 Socom and this round would be BEAST compared to even it...and it aint no slouch!

Here is some technical data on the round:

Thread on another forum by the rounds creator, good info:

Looks like, from left to right:

.50 HP with .50 BMG ball projectile
.50 HP with a Cast Lead Bullet
.50 HP with a copper jacketed lead bullet
7.62x39 for size comparison

...and yes please message me any info you have from them because I want to contact them asap!
