USPSA Classifier match (pearlington)

Post by bigsig on Mon Feb 21, 2011 9:35 am

Third Sunday in march there is an all classifier match in pearlington. Shooting should start about 8:30-9:00 am. Get there early and help set up.

Pretty sure my entire crowd will be there to spread around the classification love. I'm getting classed in open, unless someone has a complete revolver setup and ammo they want to let me borrow! My 10 year old is getting classified in Single Stack! Go Carter!

I'd definitely come down, but the AL sectional is that same weekend.

Guess I'll be breaking the limited glock out again. Wished I had my Revo setup already to go though.

If you shoot the AL sectional (8 stages) all day Saturday, and drive all night back to Pearlington, you can get there early enough to help set-up! Then shoot 6 classifiers!
Bet you can move up a whole class-level (or not)
or pass-out (or not) No

HAH if it will run more than two mags before I have to clean the chamber!!! I think Maury fixed that issue for me today... from all the metal shavings on his shop floor i think my chamber was a little snug LOL!

Interested in checking out what competition shooting is about. Are spectators welcome? If so, please provide directions.

Thanks

Get off I-10 at Exit 2 in Mississippi. Head south for 1 mile. Look for the IPSC target in the median, the road is a turn to the left. It is a dirt road.

This is a classifier match, si there won't be as much runing and gunning as a normal match, but you will get the idea. Hope to see you there.

Definitely come out if you can make it. Most shooters are very friendly and glad to answer questions or chat, but some will be "in the zone" and not notice you if you are standing in the back so introduce yourself and get to know some of the group.

As mentioned, this is a "Classifier" match, so all 6 of the stages shot will be precisely measured and set up so that the scores can be compared nationally. The stages typpically have more strict procedural requirements as well and are generally more "technical." If you were thinking about shooting a match, this would be a great one to start with. If you liked it and joined USPSA within the next few weeks, you could get your initial classification from this match alone.

I don't mean to push you though and if you'd rather just watch, by all means do that. If you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance, feel free to post here or PM any of us.
