Legislative deadline?

Is tomorrow (Tuesday, March 1) a deadline for bills to come out of committee? I think so, for bills originating in the other house. HB 506 has the votes to pass in Jud-a in the Senate. It should be good to go. SB 2469, on the other hand, is still in Jud-b in the house. More than likely DEAD. Hope we can get it piggy-backed onto something else. Any comments or suggestions? Bruce.

well if 506 passes we wont necessarily need 2469 piggy backed onto anything will we? the main differences between the two is that 506 will require a safety course to carry in the new areas, and it doesnt(that i noticed) have any mention of cities, counties and other municipalities having the authority to prevent carry in their parks like 2469 did(I know that was a big hang up for a few folks on here), but i could've missed that.

hopefully it is no deadline, but if it is we might have to wait till next year..........the main part of this that will affect me(colleges) wont even go into affect until July 1st, and I finish up(hopefully) on June 28th, but it would still be nice to have the option to carry in church and the other areas the bill would permit

Yes, today is the deadline. If SB2469 doesn't come out of Jud. B today, it is dead.

You can pretty much forget any positive gun legislation coming out of jud B... not as long as the current chairman is seated in the top seat. We need a pro gun speaker to appoint more conservative, pro gun chairs...

That's what I thought, too, until this year. Check HB 506, it came out of Jud. B. Thank goodness I was sitting down. Of course, the amendment to let "normal" people carry with training was added after it came out of committee.
