Illinois at it again
Just read on Fox News that the Illinois Attorney General is trying to release the records of all permit holders and what guns they are lincesed to carry . The state police are refusing right now but, looks like it is going to court.

This gives strong support to our argument that ANY encroachment into our Constitutional right is the camel's nose under the tent. It is the way liberals take our rights---one small step at the time. And one day we wake up and live in a Chicago type nation with no rights.
It also gives merit to those who avoid getting a CCW permit, lest their name and inventory end up published in the Clarion Ledger one morning.
By the way, I would like to see Mississippi legislation passed that clearly prohibits access or publication of our CCW permit info.
As I recall, there is something in the law that says the information cannot be obtained under the FOIA for 45 days after being issued.
That means that it can be obtained by a newspaper or TV station or your neighbor or your ex-spouse after that time.
I'll look it up when I get time.

The Department of Public Safety shall maintain an automated listing of license holders and such information shall be available on-line, upon request, at all times, to all law enforcement agencies through the Mississippi Crime Information Center. However, the records of the department relating to applications for licenses to carry concealed pistols or revolvers and records relating to license holders shall be exempt from the provisions of the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983 for a period of forty-five (45) days from the date of the issuance of the license or the final denial of an application.
