Sign I saw in Louisiana...

Post by 1985 4runner on Sun Mar 06, 2011 1:31 pm

Saw this posted at a high school in LA we were doing some work at last year & snapped a pic...

I occured to me that if the sign itself keeps criminals from breaking the law & carrying a firearm, why then would it be necessary to pass an additional law outlawing body armor? Since we all know that criminals obey the law & there would be zero threat of a firearm present....
thinking

I'm sure there is a perfectly logical answer to this question but since it hasn't dawned on me yet, I just have to ask... Why would wearing body armor be a crime under any circumstance? I mean, it's not a weapon, in and of itself, no more than a text book could be or did they have those outlawed as well on a different sign? At least that would help explain the current product of the schools. scratch

Hmmm. Does their listing of certain criminal things imply that anything NOT listed is OK?

Why not list rape, assault, counterfeit money, theft, etc. Do they condone such criminal behavior?

This is where liberal thinking takes you. They want EVERYTHING clearly stated in laws and regulation so NOTHING is left up to citizens' judgment/choice/discretion.

Of course, liberals reserve the right to decide for themselves what laws and regulations they will follow.

It's just that us commoners lack the wisdom to make intelligent decisions.

What a bunch of hogwash...

Why would they make body armor illegal? If anything it would be a benefit I would think. Maybe they think only a criminal would wear it. Does this mean if a shooting occurs on campus the cops must take theirs off and leave it along with their gun at the entrance to school property cause no where does it say illegal except for law enforcement officials.

In a high school, I could see banning all that for the students. Teachers should be allowed to wear concealed carry if they have a permit and body armor on top of that.

I see in the gun free zone part it says something about hard labor. I thought that was a violation of civil rights. Crimmals don't have to work like us law-abidding citzens do they? evil grin What???

As with most places that are “Gun Free Zone’s” (like a school) the police are allowed to carry their pistols, shotguns, rifles, body armor, tazer, pepper spray, handcuffs, baton, knifes, and other weapons in order to protect themselves while they perform their lawful duties while the children and teachers only defense is locking the door to the classroom and hiding under their desk when things go bad.

But rest assured while the gunman is going through shooting a people the police will be setting up a perimeter, evacuating those who are lucky enough to make it out on their own, and forming a tactical plan for their SWAT team (once the SWAT team arrives and gets all of their gear together and assemble a team) to go in and find the bad guy.

When seconds count the police are only minutes away.

Kinda strange...most LEO's I've talked with hate to wear their body armor anyway...especially in the hot Southern summers...

I doubt its a big issue with the school kids...not much of a fashion statement

Yet another reason to home school your kid....in a GUN FULL Zone lol

I don't blame them those vests are HOT but I'd rather sweat than wake up dead due to my own ignorance.

Was reading up on La.'s laws for a family member passing through the state in concern with having a firearm in a vehicle with no permitt, found out it is the state law that prohibits body armor at schools. Weird.
