I like the AP Progressive. I haven't used their single stage. You also get "free" bullets!

I've got the LNL AP....love it for handgun and 223. Still use a single stage for 270 and 30-06.

Me too. I've seen some where people use the Lee tubes. The Hornady feeder looks good, but I'm pretty sure I can build one for less than 300.

I also just ordered one of these Powderfunel since Hornady never seems to have the drop thru expanders. Supposedly this one can be used for all calibers. This way I can use my powder cop .

Saw one at bass pro this weekend, I believe that this is going to be the ticket. I just got back into reloading after a 20 year lapse, it is still just as much fun.

I feel like I studied it for 20yrs before getting into it. lol Shoulda done it sooner. Of course, reloading is a gateway drug. You'll be casting boolits next.

For you guys with the L-N-L AP, what comes with it and what do I need to order to get started. I've been loading with a single stage press for a while but never used a progressive.

It would be nice if someone could put together a parts list of everything you need to get started. I just don't want to get the press in just to realize that I need to order something else before I get started.

Thanks guys. I'm loving this forum!

I've had one for over two years and love it. The main thing you will need to buy that doesn't come with the press are shell plates and dies for the various calibers you want to load. One nice thing about the LNL AP is it uses standard dies. You will want to buy additional LNL bushings (individually, 3 and 10 packs available). This way once you adjust your dies you don't have to do it again. The press comes with 3 I believe.

I just bought the case feeder from Cabelas, on sale for $269 and .50 cents shipping. You don't need the case feeder but it sure makes reloading fast and works great. If you get the case feeder you will need to buy the plates you need (small pistol, large pistol, small rifle, etc.) which run around $30 each.

If you get a chance go to www.ultimatereloader.com, he has some great videos and tips on using the LNL. Good luck!

Bare minimum:
Press
Die Set
Shell Plate
Scale
Calipers
primer flip tray
Reloading Manual
sturdy reloading bench

Additional but not absolutely necessary:
Brass Tumbler w/media
media separator
bullet puller
additional primer pickup tubes
powder cop
extra bushings for each caliber
powder die for each caliber
case prep tools for necked cartridges
even more reloading manuals
ABC's of reloading (no recipes but very good read for reloading)
ammo boxes
case gauges
assorted buckets to keep brass in
and a slew of other nice to have things that you will eventually discover...

Yes for sure. Another gateway drug is firing a shot from your rifle, watching the target go down 600 yds down range, then watching it come back up with that little white shot marker in the center of the X ring. Your WHOLE LIFE can become all about reloading - and reading the wind.

My life is over. awesome
