AIM Surplus Mosin Nagant 91/30

Post by Toyfare on Mon Mar 21, 2011 2:25 pm

I decided to order me a 91/30 yesterday morning to go with my M44. I was going on the cheap and ordered the $69.99 91/30 from AIM Surplus. I'll update this thread when it comes in! Anyone else order one from them and like the results?

I got one from them a few months ago. I splurged the $10 extra for "hand picked". I was pleased, course you can't go too far wrong for the price.

Get you a can of ammo from the classified section, cheap stuff can't last forever.

Looks like they sold out of them quick. I ordered a Nagant myself from J&G Sales. It should be here today or tomorrow.

I've got 2 from AIM. No complaints. I paid for the hand picked too. I refinished this one just for fun.

Wow those did sell out fast! Can't beat a working rifle for $82 shipped to your door. Mine shipped out today and I can't wait to take it to the range on Saturday!

I guess I am not the only person with that terrible sickness, Mosinitis. I have found the only way to keep it in remission is to buy a Mosin Nagant at least monthly.

Maybe it was a fluke, but the one I got from them was very clean. Swabbed the bore and fired it. Cross your fingers.

I got 3 MN 91/30 refinished from Southern Ohio Gun for $59.99 each +shipping. All of them were serviceable. They came with sling, bayonet, cleaning kit and ammo pouch. I kept the best one and sold the other two. The one I kept had a bore that looked unfired. As a matter of fact the whole action area looked unfired. You can still see the machine marks in the throat of the rifling from the chambering reamer. The rifle I kept was made at IZHEVSK in 1944.

The side rail of the receiver has been drilled and tapped for the PU telescope base. The holes have been capped over and you cannot see them from the outside of the receiver.

My research tells me the "Sight in Commissar" chose 1 out of every 1000 rifles for accuracy and they were drilled and tapped for the telescope base.

Accuracy wise the rifle is near MOA with my handloads made with Sierra .311" 150 gr spitzer bullets.

Just received a Izhevsk 91/30 at 4:30 PM today that I purchased from a private owner that is still in very heavy cosmoline. Hopefully my son will volunteer to clean it this weekend. Keeps my sickness in remission.

I've got two 91/30 s I bought at gun shows a couple years ago for $120 each. I guess I paid too much. Actually need to get rid of one of them. Cheap, accurate shooting.

With shipping, I paid around $107 for the hex receiver and $98 for the round receiver. You may want to consider taking it to the gun show and see if someone may want to buy it from you.
