I'm the proud 3/4 owner of IHC 4525770, lol! It was more money than the AR but it was on the table behind my friends I was helping man so for two days I've been looking over my shoulder at it. Better pics when I get my hands on it.

Re: Hard decisions!
I couldn't afford anything on this row.

There were probably 50 or so Garands. Every rifle on this rack came with a completed data sheet. The fifth from the bottom didn't have a price tag.

I guess if you have to ask it's you can't afford it since it has this dohickey on the end of the barrel!

You did well. She IS a beauty...and will undoubtedly shoot even better.
I might be up for a 'bama trip about the 13th or 14th. Keep me posted.

I'll do that shoe. It will be the weekend, probably the 16th.
I googled the smith, Bill Reitz and found the link below. He is listed as being inducted into the US Army Marksmanship's hall of fame.

Phillip M ,
I never shot scores as high with the M1 as I did with the RR AR15A2 NM rifle. In the World of HP Rifle Shooting, a match grade M1 is really obsolete. As the other Phillip said, it can't be used in CMP Garand Matches. So, what use would it be in match shooting against AR15 NM rifles.
The AR15 NM rifle is easier to control in Rapid Fire. As a matter of fact, it feels like the time limit in rapid fire is longer with the AR15. It has the same wind drift characteristics as the 7.62x51 or .30-06 at 600 yards (with 75 or 80 gr match bullets).
For practicality, I would choose the AR15 NM by Rock River. If you want to try one, we can arrainge it at the Southwest Gun Club.

Simple answer is I've always wanted to know what a good M1 could do. I don't shoot against AR-15's, I really only shoot against myself anyway, lol! All you said is true, however a match M1 can clean the target so I just need to hold a little tighter. If you think the M1 is bad, one day I'll cobble together a 1903 for XTC.

Re: Hard decisions!
Best of luck with your M1. I fired one at Camp Perry for 2 years. I did fairly well with it. That was in 1984-85

Nice choice, Phillip!
That Birmingham show looks like my kind of gun show. I may have to arrange a weekend trip over there for one of them.

I missed the news that Match Garands have their own class! Now if only someone else would bring one out or build one...
