USPSA Match this Sunday, April 3, in Byram at Magnolia R&PC

Post by DBChaffin on Fri Apr 01, 2011 3:03 pm

As the title of the thread indicates, Team Magnolia's monthly USPSA match is this Sunday and it looks like the weather is going to be great once again. If you've ever wanted to try compeition or just have some fun shooting with a great group of folks, this is a great match. A new shooter's first match is free, and it is always free to spectate (but shooting is a lot more fun!). Let us know if you have any questions about the gear used or required. We can usually assist with loaner gear if you don't have everything needed, and there is a division for just about any handgun out there from 9mm/.38 Special on up.

Steve and I are in charge of running the match this weekend and are going to do our best to fill John's shoes. Final stage selection is still in the works (if anyone has something they are interested in shooting, please send it to one of us), but we plan to shoot five stages with a total round count around 115-120. Make sure and bring some extra rounds just in case. There is no pre-registration online for this match, so just plan on signing up at the range like the "old" days. Shane and Richard should be cooking again, so consider staying for lunch and enjoying some good food ($5 per person).

Also, following the regular match, we plan to hold another Magnolia Top Shot / Pot Shot mystery team competition. I was "inspired" by Pat's efforts last month and volunteered to set one up for this month. I'm going to do my best to make it fun. $5 entry fee with payout to the winning team, all teams will be drawn at random, and my goal is for it to not last long, hopefully 20-25 minutes tops like Pat's inaugural effort.

Set-up begins at 7am and the match starts at 9am or as close thereto as possible.

For range location and a little more info, check out Team Magnolia's website:

Hope to see y'all there,
Bryant

Can't wait to compete in this month's "Top Shot", it sure is worth the price of admission.
