My Tr and rifle from Dicks did good at 50 yards but when I scretched them out to 100 the groups scretched out too. Major suckage. Gonna have to try something different.

I did the same thing with my 10 22 . My barrel is od green. Only problem is i think I shot the barrel to the point of exhaustion . It loved 40gr federal solids when I first got it . Now it loves nothing

It would take 80,000-100,000 rounds to burn out a .22 rf barrel. You might have leading or a ding on the muzzle.

I would guess a ding in the crown ..... check your barrel crown ... will cause accuracy to go to pot!!

Must be leading cuz I have Probily only shot 60 thousand and no dings that I noticed in the many times I have tryed to clean it due to the horrable accuracy . I can hit a crow or turtle at 25o yards with a lucky shot but a Squirrel or can at 5o yards may live thro a clip

Good shooting at 50..."F class" 22 is 100 yards however....
a major difference with 40 grain bullets and a little crosswind....

Most 10-22's I ever shot did better with a dirty bore, not clean but not 5,000 rounds dirty. Keep shootin' it and I bet it gets better.

Yeah I am for sure going to come shoot. i got a couple of buddies that are getting guns put together to come shoot as well. I am planning on trying to go out and try it out at 100 and see what works. I still got to get front and back rest.

Different ammo will probably do the trick.

Looks very good.
This is my opinion. Keep in mind that opinions may be valuable and they might be worth what you paid for them.
1. Unlike centerfire 22s seldom get truly hot.
2. All reliably accurate 22 ammo is lubricated. The really high end .22 ammo has a certain percentage of tallow in the lubrication.
3. As you fire a 22 the barrel gets warm and the lubricating substance becomes more liquid (in the barrel).
4.The more liquid it becomes the more consistent the accuracy.
5. Tallow remains liquid longer the paraffin (another substance used for lubrication).
6. If you are shooting a cold barrel, or if you have waited too long between shots, the lubrication becomes dry and semi-hard in the barrel forcing the next shot to push its way through - hence high impact. Just my own observations and guesses.
Cleaning the barrel ??? Keep the chamber and just forward of the chamber clean. Let the barrel ebb and flow.
I've never cleaned my wife's TR Savage. She reliably shoots under an inch at 100 with no wind. This is another point. Don't try and check accuracy in the wind. It can be confusing, frustrating, and make you want to take up flower gardening.
