Remington LR Primers

Wanted to give yal the heads up, Van's over on Hwy468 had a couple of cases of Remington 9 1/2 large rifle primers, you have to go back to the gun counter and ask for them. 1 box limit (1000ct) I normally use Winchester but I needed some. [] oh price $39.99

Yeah, they close at 6p.m. on Saturdays. Small rifle primers; can't find them nowhere. I did buy several packs at Bass Pro about a month ago.

$40.00 -- isn't that a rip-off??? I have been purchasing reloading components from Vans for sometime now ... Always paid around over $32.00 for 1K primers .... I can not believe that a merchant would stick it to his regular customers!! I have no problem with the limit -- 1k is reasonable in these days and times ... I will certainly reevaluate my shopping patterns and I will try my best to avoid the merchants that try to screw me!!

Van's a good person, dealer. He's had to go up on all reloading stuff these days, powders, bullets. You want to see a rip off, do a search on gunbroker.com; primers are going between 50-120 dollars, per 100K, now that's what I call rip off.

He may be a good person; however, I do not know if he had to go up that much ...... I do not see that much of an increase at the wholesale level ... just a shortage ... as for gunbroker, those people who pay those prices are just ****** IMHO. Again, good merchants should do all they can for their loyal customers and not use the shortage issue to rip us off .....

Next time I'm in Van's probably Monday....

I'll mention that some us are feeling "taken advantage of" on the price...

Up till now Van has been reasonable...since He hasn't had a primer on the shelf in 6 weeks He might figure He can get away with it :tongue:

Maybe if He knew He was getting a little bad press here He'd ease of...

I won't pay that for LR primers, I might for Large or small pistol...Long as they were Federals

It's called capitalism. Low supply and high demand = higher prices

I dont blame them for trying to make a couple extra bucks. At least they are staying pretty low and not jacking them way up like some places.

Man, I didn't mean to post this if everyone was going to ticked off, I haven't seen any primers on the shelves at any place, Vans, Bass Pro, or even Surplus, while surplus did have some CCI bench rest Large rifle primers, they too was going for 3.99 (100ct).

I was trying to inform that there were some out there, I was getting low and I'm glad Van had some. I will continue to shop there, his prices are no more out of line than the rest of the gun shops around the jackson area.

I don't work at Van's but I do work at The Outfitter. What some people don't understand is that when these prices go like they have on certain items, We are having to pay higher prices from the companies to buy it ourself. Do you expect us to sell them at cost??? Ammo is a prime example, we hear it every day about the cost of ammo. We aren't buying it at 2007 price and just putting a astronomical mark up to make more money. But the price is whatever we can buy it then our normal mark up. $3.99 for a box of 100 isn't a bad price in today's market. Look at people at gunshows or on gunbroker that are selling 1000 primers for $80 bucks all day long. Unless you know facts that Van is paying some low price for the primers and then he is trying to raise the price high to "RIP" somebody off, please don't insult the man like that. I am sorry Captain-03, but that post was uncalled for.
