Team Magnolia fun stuff

Post by Duhbob on Mon Apr 04, 2011 9:14 am

Scores are up on TEAM MAGNOLIA website from April USPSA match. And...
For those who didn't stick around for the Top Shot team competition...y'all missed a HOOT!
Bryant unleashed a wagon full of tricks and surprises. Three pick-up teams shot a three-round tag team relay with the match M&P 9mm pistol from the table. The stage was par-timed for each team's run. Coaching from the bench got loud and frantic a few times...but lotsa kidding too.
The target arrays were eggs, canned drinks, balloons, steel, dangling mirror-polished metal disks, sporting clays and (believe it) wooden matches held up in pairs, from ten yards.
Team:Sammy M. , Tommy C. , and Don Evans tore it up for the huge win. and the money!
I think the whole set-up match, and tear-down took 45 minutes. WOW
bravo

Thanks for the comments, guys, and congrats to Team 3, Sammy, Don, and Tommy, for their win! I had some ideas and it ended up working out pretty well. Setup took a little longer than I expected, and would have taken a lot longer if not for the help I got from several folks. A big thank you to those that pitched in. I also hadn't anticipated how long it would take to pick teams and get everyone together. Overall though I was really happy and thought it was pretty fun. I really enjoyed how another team (that happened to include Sammy's dad) talked a little smack and ended up solidly in 3rd place! jdphotoguy's team made a good showing in 2nd.

Here's the video of the winning team's run. I edited a few "delays" and boring parts out, but you'll notice that the video is still nearly as long as the par time. They didn't get off the most shots, but they made them count and were hitting early and often. I think Sammy would have been MVP if there was a vote. She went 3 for 3 up until a low shot at a match stick that did incur a penalty after all other targets had been cleared. Make sure you crank up the resolution because everything is small enough as it is with the hat cam, so it is at least a little clearer if you go up a notch or two from 360p.

If you want to watch it full screen, it should be available in HD here:
