22 Rimfire - Youth Shoot Sunday afternoon April 17

Post by msredneck on Tue Apr 05, 2011 11:05 am

One of the early objectives when starting the 22 F class program was to get more youth shooting.

But the competitive nature of the adults has kinda precluded all of that.....

So with all that in mind, I'd like to have a youth 22 rimfire shoot at my place on Sunday afternoon April 17th.

Sat April 16th was out due to the normal 22 F class shoot at Magnolia.

I realize that the wind may be a factor on a spring afternoon, but I guess we just gonna have to deal with it. Or we might not start still late afternoon say 4pm.....Time TBD

Only stipulation that I have on this one is no one over the age of 16 is gonna pull a trigger. I'd prefer to see more "sporter class" rifles also...Not Sinclair rifle rests, Nightforce scopes and match grade barrels and thumbhole stocks.

Coaching is obviously allowed

we can shoot 50 or 100 yards...which ever you prefer.

I will need some help running the match...and probably a few target stands

If ya'll are out of 22 bullets on the 17th

I'd entertain having an adult only Vintage mil-surp "friendly" match

I have a 300 yard berm..actually its a 289

If the you shoot doesn't pan out, I'd be open for the other.

Going to Alabama to get my "new" M1 on the 16th, if I make it back in time that would be a great way to break her in!!

As long or as short as you want it to be...I can be there Sunday am to set up target stands and can stay till dark 30

I'd like to keep it simple.....Only rules are safety oriented

Get Lil Johnny a brick of 22 ammo and come "churn and burn"

Razz

I realize its short notice from an organization point of view....Sorry bout that...I'm a busy man.

If it don't work out, we can reschedule to another time...

I just wanted to provide an "opportunity" for some juniors to come shoot. The schedule at Magnolia R&P is pretty tight

I should have said I'm in and got a jr shooter that said she wants to shoot , but you know how many times a 15yr old girl can change her mind in a day lol , so I'll have to wait till the day of to be sure she is gonna come.

Actually...It really should not be on the books now...

Gotta make some improvements to the shooting platforms with box blade Sunday afternoon.

was gonna do it Friday night...but tomorrows rain is gonna really screw up my plans...and Sunday afternoon is the only time i'm gonna have to do it. Sat will be too wet to move dirt...most likely

If its a earth shattering disappointment, we will work around it.

I have 2 shootin platforms and i gotta fix em both...but the range can be open...

shoot me a pm if still interested and we will work something out
