Night Shoot at Necks? - Judging Interest Level

Post by msredneck on Wed Apr 06, 2011 5:23 pm

Was gonna put on a Night shoot last year but ran out of time in October '10

I would still like to put one on...would like to do it before it got too hot...I'm thinking last week of May.

I know we got lots of stuff on the calendar...so I'm just opening it up for discussion.

This event might need a bit more "coordination" for safety reasons...so I'm not opposed to doing it in the summer if that's what folks would like to do.

I'd like to explore possible dates, what ya'll like to shoot, courses of fire, materials needed etc etc.

Those that have been out there know that I have 2 fairly decent shooting berms in place.

Before it gets too far along...I'm mainly thinking pistols on this one...might let some full auto stuff rip at 25 yards or less...I dunno...lets kick it around

Last Sat night in May might work....That's May 28...Memorial Day Weekend so ya'll could recover from shooting all night.

Possible conflict for me is Regular F class match in Bogue...always 4th Sats...

but I should be back in time to nap and watch ya'll set up targets... lol

we will have some eats at this event...always gotta eat...I got burn piles that will go all night...

will have to make a courtesy call to Hinds Cty SO so the law don't come out to see what all the noise is

Would love to, but I'll have my folks here then and I've already got a rifle match that morning. I'd love to try out some tracers at your place, provided we've had some rain beforehand.

Im up for a night shoot! Heck im for any shooting.
I have a lincoln ranger 10,000 welder/generator. Can power all the lights you want if need be.

I was just talkin to some friends today bout a night shoot. I been wanting to do that for awhile. Altho i think ive shot more at night than i have in the day haha. But i dont think we are gonna have a 2 million candle power spotlight out there.......

Spit a date and time out, ill come and bring the generator or what not, and a bunch of ammo.

So what is a "night shoot" all about?

(I'm always interested in doing some shooting, so it's not a question of whether I'd like to attend or not.)

Is it simply to shoot tracers and see them light up all pretty like?

Or, is it shooting with NV devices?

Or, is it simply shooting at night with the target area lit up with spotlights?

IDK

Where at is your range? I'd be open to doing that with pistols, rifles and shottys. Maybe have a small course of fire with 3 guns with or without lights. Can you use tracers out at your range?

I have a way to do the glowing targets you mentioned last time neck, its not cheap, but $20 worth of this stuff should go a good ways. Of course im interested in this. I will probably make a trip to cabelas by then too if anybody wants some tannerite type targets.

Be doing a lot of camping with the wife and we always have a big trip for Memorial Day. Ya'll get a date and I will see. Heck, might tell the wife were camping out somewhere out that way, she can come pick me up if ya'll pull out something cold to drink after the guns have been put up.
