I know its not new, but there are a bunch of s&w 59 or 69 series (i forget which is which)police trade ins out there right now in good condition. Well made guns and they are only $299 every place ive seen them online. Cant beat the lifetime warranty either.

Never seen one, but several people have told me they really liked thier Bersa 9s. I think they make a Thunder model and a CC model, however the CC model may be a plastic framed gun, not sure. I believe Cwink here on the board has a Thunder 9 and he's had a lot of positive things to say about it. Metal guns are quickly becoming dinosaurs, though, so you might as well bite the plastic bullet sooner or later. I love my plastic guns.Smile

My vote is for the ATI 92C from CDNN. It's a Turkish Beretta 92 Centurion clone - just a bit shorter barrel and slide than the standard 92. Takes standard 92 mags. $299 new. The fit and finish is great. I love mine - have about 200 rds through it with factory 92fs mags with no trouble.

Edit: d'oh. Just read the "stainless" part, which the 92C is not

9mm ruger blackhawk
hard to beat an eaa witness or CZ 75 clone
Venerable browning high power
1911 in 9mm

not many all metal pistols anymore most are polymer frame with a metal slide. and most internals are not stainless.

P89 Ruger, ugly as hell and feels like a brick. It also has the sloppiest trigger I've ever felt, but it will never fail. I equate them to the AK47's of handguns. I'm not sure what they run now-a-days, but they used to be around $300-350 range.

I would say the best value would be the CZ-75.

Yes.. I have a Bersa Thunder 9 UC.. I really like the way it shoots.. Yall might not believe me, but it feels better and shoots better than my Hi Power. The fit and finish on the 9 is not as good as the Thunder 380 I had. But it is just as accurate and have yet to have an issue with it.

I went with a 5906 police trade in from CDNN ($299 +$17 S&H + FFL fees) and love it. I did call S&W before I purchased it and it IS NOT under warranty. Warranty only covers original owner.

If you ever have a problem, call them anyway. 10 to 1 they send a call tag and fix it for you. This was exactly your best choice IMO, but you did specify "new" so I didn't ditto Rw's response. Your great-grandkids will be shooting this gun.
