First CCW Training Event held at Magnolia R & P Club (4-9-11)
First before I start into my report, this CCW event is not official training to obtain a CCW permit. This was just 2 (then 3 and then 4) of us that kicked off these types of events. Hopefully more will attend future events....................
By 2:30 PM it was just M1GarandFan and myself looking at each other in the building. Where the heck is everyone....? All that talk on MSGO and no one shows up. So we decided to setup a small layout and PLAY............ Later Bel and Captain showed up.
The players today............................

M1GarandFan. Not only did M1GF put on and shoot in the HP match this morning, he helped me setup the CCW event layout.

Beladran showed up late........ However, he was "selling beer" until 3 AM and then played a round of golf this morning, plus he drove up from McComb. We will let you slide this time.............

Last to arrive was Captain, but his wifey-poo had a chain on him today. Don't let that happen again.....

And then there was me.......................
The odd-ball Lefty.............
The targets...................................

We started with these.

And then changed to some targets that Bel brought.

Notice the "well dressed" no-shoot targets...............
We shot them too................... (by mistake and on purpose)
Now for some ACTION SHOTS......................... (The whole purpose of today's event)

M1GarandFan went first when it was just he and I on the range. I was very impressed with his style.
NOTE: The benches were "walls" and the gap between the benches was the "door". These pictures might look funny to you not knowing that....................

Bel giving it a go................ Bel had the best hits of all of us.

Captain working the bad guys.
Sorry..... no pics of me shooting..... (thank goodness).....
I do have 2 videos that I will post in the morning. They are GOOD.......
OK you "I will be there" guys....... You MISSED IT. You snooze, you loose............
Today was both FUN and EDUCATIONAL. I hope this will catch on at different ranges across the state......

I had a great time doing this and gave me some badly (very badly) needed practice shooting my pistols. I hope we can continue to do this. It was a lot of fun.

I may have said that I would be interested in doing this, but haven't checked the thread for details. I was at the range. But after that steel match I had shot my pistol ALL I wanted to in one day.

Looks like a lot of fun
There are so many different events I'd like to shoot...so little time..
I guess the message MSGO folks...There's something for everyone in the shooting sports...
I intend to participate in as many as I can.

Sorry guys, I didn't get freed up till after 5. I went by but looked like you all were long gone. Can't wait to see the video.
Re: First CCW Training Event held at Magnolia R & P Club (4-9-11)
The YouTube video link below is both Bel and I shooting during the "distraction" portion of the event. Poor Captain was the "test subject" as he didn't know what I was going to do to him. After that, the surprize was gone......

I guess we all ran about 6 different drills. We even shot some strong and weak hand only drills. Oh yeah...... no SKEETERS to bother us...

SGF & Beladran -- thanks for thinking this up and actually going through with it! Sorry I was late; the wife had other things for me to do ---
Actually learned a lot ..... I would have been killed a couple of times == learn to use the limited cover available!!
We must do it again ..... Again,

I noticed that everyone luvs them 1911's..but aint no one "carrying" one...
Lots of "plastic" out there.
Is that a Glock I see Beladran holding...surely my eyes are failing....
Na....too "low-end" for Beladran...must be an H&K
Looks like Cap might a had his M&P
Thought on CCW training you had to wear a concealment garment?
I'm in on the next one...if there is one
Ya'll need a few barrels for "cover"...

THat was my new m p compact 45 ..1911 would have been to easy
Re: First CCW Training Event held at Magnolia R & P Club (4-9-11)
1911 = left it
left it at home, left it in truck etc etc
I see what ya'll were using when the chips were down
I'd like to suggest some Hooters girls for "the protected" next time...I predict a few missed targets

For what my input is worth...
Looks like you had a ball.
Wish I could have been part of it. Am envious.
As an aside: I obviously was mistaken but I thought originally this was targeted toward the mousegun genre.
