ICORE Match At Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club, This Sunday, April 17th...

This Sunday morning (April 17th) the Magnolia Rifle And Pistol Club will have the monthly ICORE match:

Set-up - 7AM

Shooter's meeting - 8:45

Match Starts - 9AM

Cost- Free for first timers, $15 for match fee, $10 for members of Team Magnolia.

Match: ICORE is somewhat like a USPSA, but not as complicated and is a little more straightforward when it comes to the designs of the courses. Easier to understand, if you will. Still a lot of fun, but perfect for the new shooter.

Equipment: Revolvers with at least 4 speedloaders/moonclips. Sturdy belt and holster that covers the triggerguard. Eye and ear protection and 125 rounds of ammunition.

If you would like to shoot a semi you are welcome to do so. You'll need 4 extra magazines.

There is some semi and revolver loaner gear available. PM me for details.

Don't be shy. If you've ever wanted to try your hand at a pistol competition, this is the place to do it. We'll help you get started, so come on!

Mom said I could come out and play Sunday, which is a good thing as I'm going to need all the practice I can get before the MS Classic.

We should have quite a few semis as everyone is getting ready for the MS Classic. Weather should be perfect.

While tearing down for ICORE today, in a moment of desperation, and sophomoric inclinations, we decided to try and see how many barrels we could load on to my truck. We accomplished the loading part. The transporting turned out more like a ship dropping depth charges. But it was fun nonetheless!

Bummed I missed the depth charge dropping, looks like fun.

I'm really surprised the barrels managed to stay up long enough to get pictures.

Fun day....great weather!

And the best thing.....LOTS of new shooters!!!!!!!! Great set-up and tear-down help as well!!!!!! Way to go everyone. You guys and gals made the job of sitting in for Matt as match director easy.

Yes, Ken does a great job and I for one appreciate his hard work.

They rang for a little while. A "range going hot" command would have been nice lol.

I got it under control now.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Matt and his family. And to Jinnie Shramek who stills feels the pain of loosing her Mother. I have lost my younger brother and Step Father in the past two and a half years so I do feel their pain.

On a happier note; We were happy to welcome back Ed and Corley Marsalis. Ed and Corley are long time shooters who we had been missing for some time. It was great to shoot with them again and I hope to see them much more often in the future.

As usual, we have an overall score table that shows the order of finish without regard to division. In the process of making the percentages unique in each division I seem to have made them division unique in the overall table as well. I'll have to look into that.
We have shooters in Revolver Limited, Revolver Classic, and Semi-Limited. We had no Open or Rimfire shooters this month.

To all of you sending thanks; You are very welcome! I like to put on a good show and I am slowly working the bugs out.
I enjoyed the match and look forward to seeing you all at the next one.
