CLUB PICNIC AND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP: APRIL 23, 2011
We will have our Club Picnic and Club Championship Match at the McComb Range. The menu will be Fried Chicken, Potato Logs, Potato Salad and cookies. We will shoot 5 different events this year:
Rimfire Hunting Rifle: The rifle has have a tapered barrel in caliber .22 Long Rifle. The weight of the rifle has to be 7.5 pounds or less with magazine and sights installed. Telescopes may be used with a power up to 6X. Variable scopes may be used if set on 6X or less. Any safe .22 Long Rifle ammunition may be used. No slings allowed.
Course of fire: 25 yards on B17 Target, 5 minute sight in period for unlimited sighters
1. 10 shots standing in 10 minutes
Centerfire Hunting Rifle: The rifle has to have a tapered barrel of caliber .243 WCF or larger. The weight of the rifle has to be 9.5 pounds or less with magazine and sights installed. Telescopes may be used with a power of 6X or less. Variable scopes may be used if set on 6X or less. Any safe Centerfire ammunition may be used. No slings allowed

2. 10 shots standing in 10 minutes
Rimfire Handgun: The handgun may be a pistol or revolver of .22 Long Rifle caliber with iron sights only. The shooter may use one or two hands to shoot the handgun.
Course of Fire: 25 yards on B 17 Target, 5 minute sight in period for unlimited sighters
3. 10 shots standing in 10 minutes
Centerfire Handgun: Any center-fire revolver or pistol with iron sights. The shooter may use one or two hands to shoot the handgun.
Course of Fire: 25 yards on B-17 Target, 5 minute sight in period for unlimited sighters
4. 10 shots standing in 10 minutes
Shotgun: Any repeating shotgun of 12 gauge or smaller. Our club requires all trap targets to be fired at with loads of 3-dram equivalent- 1-1/8 oz shot, or less. No shot larger than #6. The shot fall zone increases dramatically with heavy game loads and shot larger than #6.
Course of fire:
5. 10 singles straightaway
6. 5 pairs of doubles straight away
7. Grand Aggregate to determine the winners
The Aggregate score is the total of match 1,2,3,4, and 6. Each match is worth 100 points.
There will be the following prizes:
1st Place: Gold Medal
2nd Place Silver Medal
3rd Place Bronze Medal
High Senior Gold Medal
High Junior Gold Medal
High Woman Gold medal
Medals will be ordered after the picnic, so we can have the names of the winners inscribed on them.
The cost of this event will be $10.00 per Adult member, Junior Members pay $7.00. There is no charge for the Picnic for members or their Immediate family. If you need any of the firearms or ammunition to compete, let the Secretary know. Non-members may attend and pay a nominal fee for the lunch plus the match fee, if they are shooting.
If the weather is bad, we will shoot a revised course of fire in the air gun range with air pistols and rifles.
