Thanks guys - where's a good source for some rounds? I'm guessing 1-200?

I shot like 300 last time. Bring drinks, food if ya want. They have a place on base that cooks burgers and such that's what we ate last time.

I'd recommend a cleaning kit also if you plan to shoot any steel case stuff. thinking We should have a designated area for people to clean and service their rifles.

cheaperthandirt.com has Tula for $3.79 box of 20 cheapest price around in their flyer, haven't checked the webstore.

Checked the website it's gone up to $4.39 a box.

Centerfire sells it for $4 a box if you get the 1000 round box.

http://www.centerfiresystems.com/223.aspx

Aim Surplus also has good prices on the brass cased ammo.

I know price is an issue with most of us, but at the last shoot, the folks that had problems with theie guns where shooting tula and other steel case stuff. Most of the time shooting just a few rounds here and there is no problem. But when you start shooting lots of rounds it heats up pretty good and makes that coating a little sticky. We had a lot of failure to ejects last time. I recommend spending a little extra and get some brass cased ammo and you will have a lot more fun than if you are walking off the line to clear your weapon. You can spend your time shooting! Just my .2 cents!!!! thumbs up

I did not have any issues with the Tula ammo at McCain, but I did have a case of Monarch stick in my chamber. Got it ejected after a good bump on the extractor and continued firing. Steel case should be fine during the scored part of the shoot, but during the "happy time" it could become an issue for some shooters. I brought 2 ARs and swapped back and forth between shoots and allowed one to cool while I shot the other.

I had a Monarch case to stick in mine during a highpower match last year. It's got a still got a lacquer coating on it, where Tula,Wolf and most of the other have stopped using lacquer coating and use a polymer coating. I think that has stopped most of the sticky ammo problems.

Yep, I noticed that the Tula ammo did not seem to have any lacquer on it. It has jammed in my rifle after several hundred rounds and the chamber was really dirty.

Ive been shooting alot of Tula and you have to keep the chamber uber clean if its a tight chamber. If its a loose chamber you can get away with it. Unfortunately none of my ARs have a loose chamber.

Im loading up a couple thousand rounds of good ammo so the ARs can eat some good food this time around. My latest build loves 75gr bullets fast..

Been ammo shopping, want 400 rounds brass case. Here's what I've found:
Natchez: American Eagle $137.16 shipped
AIM Surplus: PMC $132.31
Widener's: PPU $137.64

Leaning towards the PMC because it's a little cheaper and American made. Has anybody found a better deal? Any concerns about the PMC?

Capt you think if we built a rifle rack to hold some rifles off to the side to let them cool or just to have somewhere to put them would be a good idea?
I know last time i would have to let mine cool before i put them in the case.
Just a thought.
