New question reguarding sales and transfers.

Post by 94LEVERFAN on Sun Apr 24, 2011 8:23 pm

New question guys, not sure this has been discussed. Sally inherits 30 or so guns from Dad upon his death. Dad lived in MS all his life and aquirred all firearms here. Sally, born and raised here, now lives in OK. She takes possession of said firearms and goes back to OK.
Question....Can Sally sell firearms face to face to law abiding citizens in OK since she is a OK resident? Bear in mind, firearms will trace to MS origin.
Next question... Since firearms originated in MS, can Sally sell (or gift) firearms to MS residents (who can legally own firearms.)
These questions are assuming no FFL involved. Just wondering, like some input. Thanks, Bruce.

The best thing I think would be talk to a FFL holder that she trust. In both MS and OK.

I have no idea what the law is (it could be different for handguns) but if it were me, I'd do whatever I wanted to do.

I consider a face-to-face gun sale the same as a face-to-face sale of a breadbox or book.

I don't think the number of guns is relevant.

She can receive the firearms in Oklahoma without the FFL being involved. She can sell FTF to citizems of her State of residence. She should keep detailed records of sales.
