OK, so how do we do this? We need:
1) to get this meeting visible, so everyone gets a chance to sign up,
2) agree on a date & time (and of course this means working around gunluvnatty's open schedule, and
3) place to meet.

BTW - this was my msg to gunluvinatty:

Hello gunluvinatty,

Some of us have been kicking this around, ie., OC vs CC. We don't like the law as it is currently written.

Would you be willing to meet and advise members of MSGO re: the consequences of OC; and how we could work to effect a change in wording and intent of MS carry laws, specifically to obviate the ambiguity of what constitutes open carry. Are we better off living with the devil we know, than with the devil we don't know? In other words carry concealed & stop dithering about it OR work to change the law. Some of us occasionally OC and take our chances.

Need ideas how to plan for this meeting.

I would try and hold meeting on a Friday or Sat Night so that you could maximize attendance

I would consider inviting a few police chiefs or LEO's if you happen to know a few well enough...

It might be a real interesting meeting

Good idea. I don't know any personally, but if the LEO's, or anyone, on MSGO could spread the word...

'Neck, I think it would be more effective if you started a thread, poll, whatever to start the ball rolling. Why you? "Cause people listen to you. Get enough people to commit, then we can run it by gunluvinatty.

When did folks start listening to me ?....Man....That's the best chuckle I've had all day

We have several LEO's on here or former one's - I'm sure they would like to attend...Their perspective is highly valuable on this

What town did you have in mind ? Jackson...that's a long run for you Delta folks

It's true though. So do it. Very Happy Please. There, I've ingratiated myself, satisfied now? Funny

Well, I want to make it easy on GLAtty, and he mentioned Jackson, so I reckon Jackson it is. I don't mind the trip for something like this.
Agreed on LEO involvement - invaluable perspective.

Personally, I think we to end all the CC v OC debate and begin a campaign to institute "Vermont Style" carry laws in our state.

Open carried my Sr9c in Oxford lots of times. Didn't even get a second look. It's really not as bad as you would think. I have only had one bad encounter with an LEO. That was in Holly Springs. All I had to do to shut him up was pull my shirt over it. (until he left).

There doesnt have to be a law one way or the other. Just confuse the people and they'll slip up. Reading the post shows that we are much confused. Thanks to unclear laws.

Alot of guys I work with carry but we can't at work because it's on a military post. thinking That could be a bad thing if a trained active shooter decided to target us.
