Re: Sign question....
There was also a report a year or so ago where a group of guys were open carrying in a waffle house and a group of guys came in looked around and left. A few minutes later a cop lit them up in the parking lot of the waffle house for some reason or another, and discovered they had several handguns and shotguns in the car with them, and when asked what they were doing with them they fessed up to having intended to rob the waffle house until they saw the guys OCing.
Now how true that is I dunno, because I'm too lazy to google it, so it could very well be some made up story from the OC advocates

Re: Sign question....
Well, I sent the letter to corporate this morning. I also went to the local store and spoke with the manager. She informed me, very politely, that it was Waffle House corporate policy that firearms are prohibited from Waffle House property, inside or out, with the exception of law enforcement. She added that she owned a firearm and had a firearms permit. While she wished that the policy stated otherwise, it was not her or the owners decision. When I got home, I had a message on my answering machine from the District manager of Waffle House. When I called him back he was also polite, and also a gun owner. Corporate had forwarded my letter to him. He again stated that the corporate bosses were steadfast in their stance on firearms on Waffle House property. I asked if this policy could be exempted from any individual store. He said any and all "Waffle House" stores are bound by corporate policy. He sounded sympathetic to our second amendment rights but reiterated the policy was above his pay grade. He hinted that he would feel safer if he were allowed to carry at work. One of the two hinted at a "don't ask, don't tell" type carry. If Waffle House doesn't know, their employees aren't going to ask.............

Not a big fan of waffle house anyway these days, buuuut if all of their signs are like that I won't be going out of my way to remember to disarm if I should happen to find myself in one....especially with their track record. But with a policy like that I don't particularly care to go back now anyway

Hate their food, but it don't matter now. They're on the black list.

Concealed means concealed. Who's going to know you are carrying? The only place I don't carry is in a place where it is illegal (schools, gov. buildings...). If I was going to Awful House, I'd just go. If someone asked me to leave, I'd just leave.
Re: Sign question....

This old worn out sign is in front of the shopping center on I-55N by the HD & Olive Garden. Where does it apply to? I don't think any of the businesses in there have signs prohibiting firearms.

Wouldn't take much for someone to remove that sign. It's old enough, I doubt anyone would notice...

I open carried in that Olive Garden a couple of times. So, I would say they are 2A friendly or follow state law, no questions asked.9c4me wrote:This old worn out sign is in front of the shopping center on I-55N by the HD & Olive Garden.
