.40S&W is far and away the most popular caliber in L10.

There is no capacity advantage to shooting minor power factor since capacity is limited to 10 rounds.

A lot of guys still shoot their single stack .45's and just use ten round mags, but when I was in Area 6 in April, I didn't see a single L10 shooter using a .45 OR a single stack.

Minimum caliber for Major Power Factor is .40. Minimum calber for minor is 9mm (9x19).

There is a scoring advantage to major power factor. Like Will says, there are lots of 45's shooting 10 round mags.

Personally, I prefer the recoil of a 45 ACP to a .40. I think .40 is too snappy, but that is just me. Then there is the larger diameter bullet hole in the target that on rare occasions, will catch the perf on the target, allowing you to get a better score. Of course, that goes both ways with no shoots...

You mean Nationals? Rob Leatham has won the L10 Nationals with a 6" Springfield singlestack .45 that was basically, if not completely, stock. He has won it twice though, and I couldn't swear to what he shot the other time he won it although I could probably look back and find it. Of course Rob has legitimately competed in the Limited Nationals with a singlestack. It was late 90's before L10 was implemented and Springfield's high cap gun was either nonexistant or so new he didn't trust it. He made an impressive run loading twice as much as the high cap guns and finishing in the top few.

The late Steve Broom won the L10 Nationals in 2004 I think and I am pretty sure he shot a singlestack also, but I don't remember the caliber. It was major so it was a .40 or .45, but I have seen Steve win L10 at the Missouri State Championship back in that same time frame shooting minor with a singlestack .38 Super.

Jarrett has only won L10 once (2003), and I am pretty sure he shot a high cap Para .40 downloaded when he won it.

I believe Dave Sevigny has won the L10 Nationals more than anyone else (three times) and of course he did it shooting a Glock .40.

There used to be a few more singlestack .45's in L10 before singlestack got its own division. There are still a few and they definitely can be competitive, but .40 (in a doublestack gun of some sort) is the majority at most matches.

I shoot L10 exclusivley and with a SS 40. I have a box of parts at home that I hope turns into a 6" SS 40 soon to shoot L10 with. Rob Leatham took 3rd this year at the L10 Nats with a 6" SS. I started in 2010 shooting USPSA and for some reason L10 was where I started and I Love It. There's not that big of a following at local matches, typical Sunday's has 5 or 6 shooter's. The 2010 Gator had 13, 2011 Space City had 14 and I'm shooting the Mississippi Classic but don't know how many L10 entries there are. Where as Limited and Open usually have 50 to 70 in each division
