MRPC IPCS Training - ANYONE wanna join?

Post by bsdubois00 on Mon May 09, 2011 11:58 am

So I joined this past weekend and am very excited about being able to train at MRPC. I am fairly new to IPSC and am just a measly D class shooter but realize that training is the way to get better. I am in the process of building about 3 target stands and am looking at purchasing some MGM steel plates to work on shooting. I'm going to try to go out to the range once or twice a week and practice - I'd love to have someone who's a member tag along and train with.

Anyone interested?

Brandon

Sounds good to me - which guy were you? I talked to a few. The benefits of working from home - I can sorta sneak out before 5 if need be as long as I still have blackberry access and nothing important comes up. I don't have quite the tools here to make target stands I was going to wait till I went to my folks in Louisiana but if you have some stuff maybe we can get together and each buy our own supplies if you have the tools to put them together. Figure 3 stands and 3 steel plates will be good to start off with. I'm gonna look at getting a CED7000 timer also.

I'm also going to get some target stands put together this week and ordering some more gear. Shopping for the best deal on 100 uspsa targets & pasters, found these but not sure if they're the full size 18 x 30...? http://shootersconnectionstore.com/Official-Licensed-IPSCUSPSA-Targets-Metric-Old-Style-100-Count-P1118.aspx
PS I have a truck and shop full of tools so we're set there.

bsdubois00 and I got together and cranked out a half dozen target stands last night in about an hour. After a little brainstorming and some slight modifications we had an assembly line going with me on the miter saw and him gluing plastic. I told him we should go in business but he didn't seem to think we could make a profit off you cheapskates...

Look good to me -- should hold up pretty well in the wind ... now - just don't shoot the PVC like I am prone to doing!! lol

If your still looking for steel you may want to check this out, after looking at AR500 targets it seems like a smoking deal if you can make your own stands:

Good looking stands too!
