Traveling to Ohio.........

Post by TomBomb on Sun May 15, 2011 12:30 am

Headed to Ohio.....which does NOT recognize Mississippi's concealed weapon permit....but Ohio is an OPEN CARRY state..... So is it worth the hassle of transporting the firearm thru the airlines, then having to unload it and lock it up while in a vehicle (must have an OH ccw to carry loaded while in a vehicle)? Could be interesting to open carry.... I'll have a copy of the OHIO attorney general's Concealed Carry Law.....

Exerpt from Ohio’s
Concealed Carry Law:

"Open Carry
Ohio’s concealed carry laws do not regulate “open” carry of firearms. If you openly carry, use caution. The open carry of firearms is a legal activity in Ohio."

Nowhere does it say that you must be a resident of the state to open carry.....I'll continue to research and ponder this before I go.....

Our Attorney General or their's? See if you can get them straight up there. My mother has a neighbor who had kid's the same age as us and she's been wanting to go. Think she lives in Cleveland and it's like most bit cities, crime ridden.

I thought of something right as I hit the send key. I hear that PA is very liberal about their permits, even out of state. Does OH recognize PA's.

I found a gun forum in Ohio, where they state that the open carry is applicable to everyone in the state, resident and non-resident.

May be cool to carry a 1911 on the hip and NOT have to worry about CC'ing it!!!!
