Camp McCain June 4th Pre-Arrival Information & Instructions

Participant Pre-Arrival Information & Instructions
Camp McCain Shoot – June 4, 2011


1. Only rifles chambered for 5.56mm or .223 caliber will be permitted on the range

2. Use of weapon mounted optics will be permitted

3. Park in designated parking area only

4. Do not take your weapon(s) from your vehicle until you have completed the safety briefing. All weapons must be unloaded prior to taking them from your vehicle.

5. Upon arrival at the range, report to the Administrative Table for sign-in, payment of range fee, sign a Camp McCain waiver form, and receive firing relay assignments (Range Fee is projected to be $10 - $15 depending on number of firers – juniors will fire for FREE.

6. All Juniors – under the age of 18 - must have an adult coach with the shooter at all times while on the firing line.

7. At no time will any individual have in their possession any ammunition and weapon at the same time – EXCEPT when on the firing line.

8. All ammunition will be deposited at the ammunition station. It is best to have your ammunition and magazine(s) in a marked ammo can or other type container so you can readily identify them. For your first relay, you will need two magazines pre-loaded with 20 rounds in each magazine.

9. Bring hearing and eye protection – all firers must wear hearing and eye protection. All other personnel on the firing line must use hearing protection.

10. You must attend Safety Briefing prior to firing. Safety Briefings will be given as needed throughout the day.

11. Everyone will be expected to serve as a Firing Line Safety Coach sometime during the day – Volunteer early and often – Please!!

12. Bring PLENTY of liquids to drink (it could be HOT and HUMID) – NO Alcohol

13. You are encouraged to bring a lunch – we may or may not break for lunch depending on number of shooters, etc)

14. Dress for the occasion – you will be firing from a concrete foxhole for your first firing relay.

15. You may wish to bring a shooting mat – You will be permitted to use the prone/sitting/kneeling firing positions for subsequent firing relays.

16. Smoke only in designated Smoking Area

17. If you conceal carry, leave your carry weapon in your vehicle

18. Everyone is expected to assist with range clearance / police brass - trash, etc.

WHEN IN DOUBT – DO THE “SAFE” THING!!
