If you had to own just 1 9mm

Post by Matt K on Tue May 24, 2011 4:37 pm

That was fun at the range and just small enough to carry occasionally, what would it be? With 1911's and Glocks ruled out, and holds atleast 12+1.

Man!! That is a tough one. For me it's between the SIG P228 and the Walther P99 with the slight edge going to the P228. If you were a big enough boy to "occasionally" be able to carry a Beretta 92FS, then I'd squarely be in that court.

I only have one 9mm now, a Sig 225 but it's only 8+1. I shot a SigPro 9mm at the M&G I liked it, it shot very well. Any Sig would be a good gun. The S&W M&P 9s are good guns. You can find some of the police trade in stainless S&W 3rd gen pistols that would make great range and carry guns, usually get them a great prices.

Ruger Sr9c, Springfield Xd or Xdm compact would all be well suited.

Crap. Without a budget to go by...I'd say the XD family, br High Power, M&P, or Sig line would serve you well.

Don't rule out older police turn-ins like the 59 series SW's.

Older S&W 469, my sister carries the one I've had for over a decade, and it's never malfunctioned with ANY ammo put thru it.

Well since Glock is out the question, it has to be like a lot others have said either Sig P228 or Browning Hi-Power.
