John Heiter. He is a member here, and his email address should be on the Team Magnolia website.

Go to Team Magnolia's website and fill out the Contact Us page. John gets those emails (I think).

You become part of an exclusive and HIGHLY priced group of great folks. Plus you get a discount on match fees.

Re: How to join Team Magnolia?
Awesome - sounds like just my cup of tea - what kind of "discount" also - I'm pretty bad - I hope they don't mind that I bring the quality of shooters they have down a level LOL
Re: How to join Team Magnolia?
I don't think they do studies that average out the median skill level. The only "stats" they worry about are the "match stats" that get CORRECTLY collected and posted..............
Not sure of the amount of discount. Cliff or other USPSA shooters should know that. Also, at times they put together Team Magnolia shirt buys. You should jump in on that..........

Re: How to join Team Magnolia?
I think the best way is just to join at a match, but you could PM John Heiter.
Your first match at Magnolia Practical Shooters is free.
Match fees after that are $15, unless you are a Team Magnolia member which gets you a discount and match fees are $10 for Team Magnolia members. The membership fee is just $20, so obviously if you are shooting 4 matches or more a year there it pays for itself. Please note that these are for an individual. I am almost positive there is a price break for families for a second or third shooter (spouse or children), etc, and that Team Magnolia family membership might be a a few dollars more, but I have never done any of that and am not sure on the specifics.
Noone asked this, but the idea behind the fee structure and membership dues came about several years ago when match fees for everyone were $10 but with increasing costs to put the matches on, the club was barely keeping its head above water, so to speak, and was not able to grow as desired. Other clubs in the area were upping match fees, typically to $12, $13, or even $15. The first two options create a relative nightmare for making change at the match. The membership dues give the club a little extra cash to help cover expenses and make repairs on props as well as being able to add props here and there along the way while keeping the match fees as reasonable as possible. If you divide it out, if you shoot every match you're paying $11.82 per match including the membership dues. Most clubs that I have shot with, from Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, to West Virginia, charge more, and the Team Magnolia monthly matches are consistently good quality matches that compare pretty well with most anything I have shot.
That being said, they are always looking to improve and do take comments and criticism. Most importantly, they appreciate help. If everyone helps with setup and tear down (and pasting and setting), it is easier on everyone and the matches run more smoothly. As SGF mentioned above, it is a really good group of folks, so come on out, meet everyone, have some fun, and get involved.
Ok, getting down off of my soap box that I somehow ended up on. Sorry!

Re: How to join Team Magnolia?
So - being a new shooter to Magnolia and Mississippi - my first match is free - so if I bring $20 on Sunday - I can just go ahead and join Team Magnolia and support USPSA in the great state of MS and at Magnolia - correcto?
I have no problem at all supporting the sport I ever so love and will gladly step up. When I lived in Oklahoma - the matches were also $15 there

Re: How to join Team Magnolia?
Yes, sir. There is a match this coming Sunday, June 5. Setup will begin around 7 and shooting around 9. Your first match is free, and you can certainly join then or you can just bring $30 next time and join when you pay your July match fee. TM membership dues run by the calendar year, but this being June there is still time for it to pay for itself.
I haven't seen an announcement for one yet, but there are usually shooters' meetings one evening during the week before the monthly match. Basically they meet at a local restaurant and have dinner while discussing the match, picking out stages, maybe making changes or suggestions to them, and picking out a classifier, etc. Notifications are sent through the mailing (email) list which you can sign up for at the match or at the Team Magnolia website.
I'm like you, I have no problem supporting the sport. Heck, I will spend more for the ammo I shoot and way more in gas used getting to the match than the match fee will cost me.
I am the Mississippi Section Coordinator for USPSA by the way, and if I can ever provide any info or be of any assistance, don't hesitate to let me know.
