Re: 9mm question
I've experimented with 115gr, 124gr and 147gr. I prefer the 147gr overall. Much less recoil impulse at the same PF. I use:
Precision Delta 147gr FMJ-RN
3.4gr Titegroup
1.140 COAL.
It looks like you'll be shooting open and most folks shoot 9mm Major. I'm not sure you would get much of a benefit from the comp with 9mm minor.

Re: 9mm question
With that MASSIVE comp out there, I would shoot an 88gr bullet about 2000fps............
*just a joke*
With that comp I would think you would want more pressure to work the comp. I say use the 115gr bullets.

Re: 9mm question
YEa its set up for major but I'm gonna play around with minor an major an see what happens
Re: 9mm question
Nothing. I have heard the shock wave off of hot 9mm titegroup was about like getting punched in the face?
Re: 9mm question
I can't say I've noticed that, but I'm not loading hot rounds with it. I generally try to keep my loads in the lower 130's for PF. It shoots soft and groups well with 124gr and 147. I haven't been able to come up with a good 115gr load with it. I just can't get it to group as well with a light bullet.
For 115gr I've been using HP38 at about 5gr. According to Hodgons this is towards the max for HP38, but I'm still not even making minor PF with it. Since I don't use 115's in matches it doesn't really bother me.

SHOCKWAVES.......... That is why I hated ROing the 38 Supers (or as I(we) called them.... 38 Stupids) way back when the Major PF was higher. You could feel the BLASTS in your chest and face.
Sorry, just not for me.....................

Re: 9mm question
My $.02 is go light/fast, specifically a 124/125 for that setup. If you were shooting a Production gun in minor, 147's do feel nice in some guns, but a 124/125 would give you a little more gas to work the comp and you could take it up to major if you wanted. I am pretty sure 115's aren't as popular in Open anymore, in 9mm or Super. I can definitely say they weren't among the 40+ open shooters at the Mississippi Classic this year, where there were only a handful of shooters using them. 121's were similar, and 124/125's definitely were the majority.
I tried 115's in my short .38 Supercomp Open gun and had trouble getting the velocity without pressure signs. 125's make major PF fairly easily though and feel pretty good. Open gun blast occasionally gets to me, though.
