USPSA Match this Sunday, June 5, in Byram at Magnolia R&PC
Team Magnolia will have their monthly match this Sunday in Byram at Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club. Directions can be found on the Team Magnolia website for those that haven't been before.
This may be the last 5 stage match for a couple months, as they usually drop to 4 for a month or two in the hottest part of summer. Approximately round count should be 110-125 or so, but bring extra just in case.
If you've ever wanted to try a match or just do something different and have some fun shooting with a great group of folks, this is one of many matches that is a great place to do it. You need a gun, at least 4-5 magazines, belt, holster, magazine pouches, eye and ear protection, and ammo. Your first match is free and it is always free to come out and watch (but shooting is more fun!). Let us know if you have any questions about the gear used or required. We can usually assist with loaner gear if you don't have everything needed, and there is a division for just about any handgun out there from 9mm/.38 Special on up.
Set-up begins at 7am and the match starts at 9 or as close thereto as possible. You can pre-register and your score sheets will be already printed and ready to go. You'll just have to pick them up from the stats shack when you pay your match fee: http://www.teammagnolia.com/registration.php
Don't forget Shane and Richard should be cooking again, so consider staying for lunch and enjoying some good food for a good price ($5 per person) while hanging with the crew.
Hope to see y'all there,
Bryant

Looks like it's going to be a good turn out, already 25 folks signed up, two of them GMs (Rodney May and Bryant Chaffin) and three ladies, so if you're a woman, don't think it's a male only sport.
For any new competitors, don't be intimidated by the better shooters, everyone is very friendly and all to willing to help out newer shooters. Trust me I know first hand, I'm one of those newer shooters and folks have be very generous with their time helping me to improve my game.

I'll be there..
+1 to what JD said as well, once I finally built up the courage to give it a try, I was thoroughly impressed and encouraged by how helpful everybody was, whether they were a GM or another brand new shooter. Everybody wants to see their fellow shooters improve and succeed.

I was thinking about buying one of those 10 x 10 pop-up canopies and wondering... does anyone bring those for matches during the summer? I noticed recently that stage 2 and the back 40 run out of shade pretty early in the day.

Good to meet you and welcome to Mississippi USPSA. Sorry we didn't get to talk longer, but I "shot and ran", so to speak to another match a little further south on the way back to Hattiesburg so I missed out on the food and hanging out after the match.
Glad you enjoyed it though. It was another good match put on by the TM crew.
