I like mine. I like my Sig 522 more, but that wouldn't do you much good if you are looking for an AR type. But, if you also want a Sig 556...

Got one in a trade and it was a great gun. Traded it for a Glock but would get another if I got a good deal.

I do !! It's alot of fun to shoot. Shot it Saturday for the second time. Couple failure to feed on initial load from mag but other that that it's been great. Good luck in your AK hunt

.223 is the least you should get. I do not understand the purpose of a .22 rim fire AR platform. The extra 100 bucks(at max) you would spend for an entry level .223 would be miles more weapon. .22 is for squirrels and tin cans so why get a high dollar platform for a hobby....to each his own though. I think more in self defense terms

.22 is cheap ammo. More trigger pulls for the buck!
Small game, targets, fun.

S&M 15 22- a winner!

Post by davonwav on Fri Aug 19, 2011 11:12 pm

I have put 1000+ rounds through 15-22 and absolutely love this rifle. No failures yet with Federal bulk amamo! My wife loves to shoot it as well as my grandson - low recoil. Also it is lighter than AR but you can get trigger time in at very low cost. 223 is what 30 cents?..3 to 4 cents for 22! I have decked it out with tactical-dactical & it's been so much fun. Highly recommended, extremely dependable, and inexpensive. make suer you get a new one with the blue springs on Bolt assembly. Kruger -tac-driver scope is great choice @ $100. Only crosshairs light up green or red. well made hold zero on Bushmaster as well! A 25 round mag dump is serious fun!

I don't own or shoot plastic framed firearms.

They appear to made decent enough to me. I do sell quite a few of them at gun shows.
I must admit that they sell a lot better than I thought they would.

I would love to take one to the range and try for myself but then I have a "used" gun to get rid of .

It is just too expensive on the bottom line for me to try everything I want too.

I had the 15-22 and it was great and fun to shoot. I never had a problem with it. Also supresses nicely too.

I've got a friend thats got one with the magpul stock, we've put about 1000 rnds through it so far with no problems, also shoots the bulk ammo very well. I'd get the magpul version it's got an quick attachment for a single point sling, very handy! I realy dont think you would go wrong with either one.
