What do you cover your scales with

Post by Tennjed on Thu Jun 09, 2011 1:22 am

I ordered a Lee Classic Turrent last weekend and it should be here any day (thanks for all the help I have been given here).

I have a question. I acquired a used RCBS 5-10 scale in a trade and I want to keep it on my reloading table, but would like to keep it covered to keep dust out. I have the box, but it is aged and ugly. I also would rather keep it covered with something that I did not have to lift it out of each time I wanted to use it (so tupperware is out).

I was wondering if y'all could give me some suggestions.

Thanks

Keep mine in a plastic box that I had laying around.

Buy the Tupperware it fits in and turn it upside down over your scale. That will protect it from dust and falling objects.

The Tupperware thing aint a bad idea...I keep a small can of compressed air on the bench...give it a little blast every now and then

I've got a chargemaster combo. An old T-shirt covers it fine. I don't cover my balance beam scale; it just sits on a shelf above the bench and I take it down and use it to check the electronic scale every once in a while.

I built a plexiglass box to cover mine. I was getting wind from the AC that kept moving it while I was using it.
