need flashlight advise!
i am looking for an extremely bright flashlight that i can mount on my AR to use as a hog hunting light/ home defense. weight is not really an option neither is battery life. let me know what you have, seen,or used and any feedback towards that light would be greatly appreciated.

I have 3 surefires and love them all since they were gifts. Get on with the strobe function, mine don't have it but I think it would be useful. With father's day around the corner, should find some for sale at locals like BPS, Academy, WW, et al. Expensive to feed though but worth it when you need it.

Look at the Primary Arms "Ultimate Weapon Light" for $80. 380 Lumens, comes with a rail mount, 3 CR 123 batts, tape switch and regular switch. Not the smallest light out there, but still manageable on an AR. I have one on an AR and it has held up well. I'm not kicking in doors with it or anything like that, but quite a few varmints have met their maker after staring into the light.

That primary arms is actually a surefire copy Lol. Surefire is a great choice, but the honest truth is there are cheaper lights out there that put out more lumens. Surefire's scout light series would be my choice though for a weapon light if I was in the market right now for one for what it's worth.

What are you mounting it on, a plasma rifle in the 40 watt range? ;-)

I've been kicking around the idea of getting one of these.

It's 740 lumens, but there is a 1000 lumen option on checkout, and you can get weapon mounts, pressure switches, rechargeable batteries, battery chargers, and other accessories for them. I emailed the guy that sells them and asked if they would withstand heavy recoil. He replied with a video showing him shooting the light with a 12 gauge Benelli. By that I mean he used the lens of the light as the target. The lens cracked, but remained in place (it is thick), and the light continued to operate.

if you could find any way to hook up a streamlight that would be the bomb! Great light and battery rechargeable.
