Meeting to discuss OC in State of Ms - Interested ?

At the request of a few forum members, I am making the following request.

I would like to schedule a meeting to discuss current handgun carry law in the State of Ms

The meeting will be civil. It can be a rather intense subject to discuss.

The intent of the meeting will be to see what can be done to change the carry law so that it is not quite so confusing. It will be a long process...all we may get done in the first meeting is come up with a plan of action.

We absolutely need input from legal counsel and LEO's

We are making effort to have legal counsel present...I say the more we can get involved the better at this point

We especially want to invite Sheriff deputies, and other law enforcement officials to get their perspective on concealed carry vs Open carry in MS

If we can get enough folks to show some interest....we will kick around some dates.

I tend to think this will need to be a Sat night type event...possibly at a small meeting room at a restaurant.

Meeting will be in Jackson metro area

I'd be interested, depending on when it is. Jacktown is about 1 1/2hrs drive for me -

I'd like to sit in on it (especially if eatins involved) but I'm in north Ms. so that put me about three + hours from Jackson.

I would like to attend and "observe"..In jackson so location isnt really a problem

I would love to attend, but unfortunately we just moved out of MS. Hopefully, this meeting is positive and productive. I would love to see MS's law clearified and/or changed.

When this meeting/discussion happens, gunluvinatty will be the one who sets the tone. Hopefully, we can all leave any agenda we might have at the door, so that we can see past our prejudices, and have a look at the law, and maybe how law enforcement sees the CC/OC dilemma.

Like neck says, we just flying by the seat of our pants. No pressure, certainly no one will be asked to do anything. First meeting, have a looksee at the broad picture. Everbody has a voice.

First, we have to know who can commit to being at that meeting. Then find a place & set a time. 'neck mentioned a weekend meeting. Just so long as gunluvin' can make it then.

So what do you say, gentlemen? We gonna do this or not?

Think someone could record it? I probably would not make it to Jackson, but would love to hear /see how it goes!
