Oh, ok. I saw the topic (which I want NO part of) and my name, so it was something I responded to.
PM me for details on the other or we can start another thread,

Cliff - There are no details cept everyone is interested in HB 506...it goes in effect in a few days and we got tons of Firearms permit holders that don't know how to get the endorsement !
If I was a trainer...I'd be pounding DPS for 411....
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Now back on OC vs CC meeting...The purpose of which is to attempt to eventually get the Ms Legislature to clarify the carry law...not to debate CC vs OC
For some reason unknown to me I have not gotten any response from the head of the meeting...
So...I say if you North Ms folks wanna kick it around with gunluvinatty in Oxford July 9...then ya'll go for it
If at a later date...It is determined ya'll wanna meet in Central, MS for another meet...then I'll set it up according to gunluvin's schedule
I'd suggest someone in S. Ms then setup a meet...
This might explain why we have a confusing carry law....lack of organization and mobilization to get something done

Been away from the forum for a so I just saw this. I'm interested. I'm on the coast so Jackson or Oxford are a drive for me and would probably cost me a full day.

While I'm not interested in OC, I'd attend a meeting to discuss actions that could help in getting our laws out of the grey area and into the black and white. There's entirely too much left open to the courts personal feelings and that makes me nervous with any law....

That's exactly where I'm at...it would be nice one day to not have this subject to argue about on here...
Gotta start somewhere

You know what they say about lawyers...if he's not busy, you probably don't want him to represent you.
Get his number, call him.

BTW...from the link provided by Libertyrules
p.8
"Mississippi does not recognize unlicensed "open carry" of weapons." and you'd be wise to have a concealed carry license or you risk being charged with carrying a concealed weapon...even if its in plain open sight"
Man That's just too funny...it what I've been saying all along
Just letting ya know I read it Libertyrules...
I could not resist a little dig...I'm just messing with ya! ....regardless of what I believe about the subject...I do think it merits attempting to have it clarified...
and maybe on day MS could really be an OC state...I'm all for it

Re: Meeting to discuss OC in State of Ms - Interested ?
Man I just typed up a long response and lost it
I have spoken to gunluvinatty...He is gonna write up something for us to kick around...
what its gonna take is working some phones etc with your MS Legislature..then depending on how it goes and how many get involved...we think about meetings
One thing us conservatives are not as good at as our liberal friends...we don't do incremental change very well...we want the whole enchilada or zilch...we gotta be willing to work it...one small piece at a time
Be looking for a new thread from gunluvinatty...
we will park this one for a while
10-4 ?

Re: Meeting to discuss OC in State of Ms - Interested ?
I am in north Ms. and I found out about this meeting from opencarry.org. I am VERY interested in a meeting in Oxford. If we can get one together I WILL be there!! I open carry and have only had one bad encounter in Holly Springs. The laws need to be changed!! I hope we can get this going in Oxford. I know I can get more of the guys at opencarry to join in as well.
