Re: Let the 1000 yard hunter build begin.
Range time is a problem for alot of us, range availability too! My range only goes to 200!
I'd love to try stretching my .308 a little more.

You should be able to trade that rifle straight across for a Sendero in 300 Mag. That will solve your load problems
Besides, it takes some effort to spook a deer at 1000 yards. You could pretty much sit your bench up next to a drag strip and not worry about noise spooking them.
I foolishly shot a deer about 15 years ago at a bit over 800 yards. If I hadn't had my friend there spotting for me while I went and looked, I would have never found it in a bare field. And, it dropped in its tracks.
The rifle was a 300 Sendero with a 8-32x56 Nightforce and a 20mil base. I know it was 165 Sierra HPBT Gamekings and 77gr of H4831.

Re: Let the 1000 yard hunter build begin.
Ive never even heard of a Sendero haha. Up north on my land I have a straight shot of about a mile on the power lines so that is where I am planning on going for gold. I plan on sitting on the lake fishing and if a deer shows up walk over to the rifle and take it out. I try to be a multitasker haha. Once I get a better optic and get the rifle broken and I am comfortable with it I will get out to the matches. I still have some learning to do.

I was out there today, It wasn't too bad. Once I get my 600yd stamp we'll just take three people on a weekday. One to work the pits, one to shoot & one to spot.
We had the whole range to ourselves today from 0900-til we left at 1500.

You're gonna have some parts left over for us that don't aspire to shoot 1k yds. Let me know what you end up with in that box.
Good luck on that, get it on video with pic's of your rifle. Should be work of art and well deserved.
I understand from ya'lls talk on bullet speed and drop why some the first computers were on battle ships firing 20+ miles.

It's slow. Money is tight especially since I got into tue .22 f-class haha. But I'm doing a lot of load development and it likes 168gn MKs with 42gns if varget. I need better optics tho, I think a nightforce or US Optics is in it's future.

I did add this tho. Mag extender gave me a few more round capacity. Will I need it? Who knows, but it's far cheaper than new bottom metal with a detatchable mag. Thats in the plans tho.

So far my extender is holding up. No complaints or feed issues. I'll probably go with the bottom metal someday.

It seems to be a bit tight with full rounds. You had any issues? Mine fit good but it was a little tIght opening and closing.

It is a little tight to open if I want to dump it when full. I don't fill it all the way up though. 6 rounds seems to be the easiest to load. 7 starts getting tight.
