Hammer- did you get a red dot for you Ruger? I am still trying to decide on what to put on my Sig. I leaning toward a holo type sight instead of a tube sight.

No, I have not. DPhillips has the exact same pistol I have and he has a red dot. I wat to try his out before I buy one. We just got to get to the range.

massair,
Steel shooting is pretty much what it sounds like. Shooting steel targets. It sounds like a great time. Check the links in
this post. It will give you more details.

I shot the last two Outlaw Steel matches at Magnolia Rifle and Pistol in Byram with my six inch .22 Browning Buckmark after having shot the matches since November 2007 with either my pistol or revolver depending on what state match was next. Just figured with the shortage of small pistol primers and ammuntion components nationwide it would be MUCH less expensive to shoot the .22 rimfire. I have two Buckmarks, a 4 inch and a 6 inch, that my sons ages 9 and 11 have shot in several USPSA, ICORE, and Outlaw Steel matches.

Did not know there was a rimfire component....Good to know I guess.....

while I agree totally about the economics of it....I still can't get too thrilled with 22 rimfire for some reason.......Different strokes for different folks....maybe I oughta come try it before I speak too loud....But of all my gun calibers, the 22's stay home the most...they bore me...I just gotta hear noise and feel recoil scratch

It's starting to catch on at our matches. Shooters really enjoy it, even the experienced ones.
