M1 match and Vintage Bolt action match at SW Gun Club in McComb 6/25/2011

The Southwest Gun Club in McComb will hold two matches this Saturday: an M1 Garand and a Vintage Bolt action rifle match. The match will be held at our 100 yard range located on Hwy 98 East of McComb. The course of fire for both matches will be the CMP 30-rd course of fire: 5 rounds sighters in 5 minutes; 10 rds SF prone in 10 minutes; 10 rds RF sitting, 10 rds SF offhand in 10 minutes. Range fees are $10 for seniors, $7 for juniors. .30 LC ball ammunition will be available for sale for the M1 match and for those using the M1903 rifle. Sign in begins at 8:00 am and the first match will start at 9:00 am. The 100yd range has covered positions, and we have an air-conditioned indoor range to which we can retreat to cool off. I need one of those sight micrometers BAD. For some reason my mind reverts to center hold when I'm shooting standing. It would be nice to dial it a click down instead of fixing my feeble mind. My position standing was as steady as it's ever been, the front sight seemed drawn to the black like a magnet.
