New to the Board/Mosin Nagant Collector
As I am new to the board, I thought I would introduce myself. I live in Clinton and collect WW I & II rifles, and in particular I like the Mosin Nagants. Here is one of my favorites - I picked up this Finnish M91 made at the Sestroryetsk Arsenal in 1915 at the Jackson gunshow a few years ago. It has the "SA" Mark on the barrel, and it is in a beautiful two-piece Finn stock. It has the Finn-added sling swivels, and has a third swivel attached to the magazine floorplate.

Very nice Mosin. I've got a couple myself and enjoy shooting them. You should bring it out and shoot it in a match sometime. We have other people that shoot the Mosins in the Vintage Match at Magnolia.

I have always liked the nagants, I have a few that are pre-Finn treatment. Love those early ones!!!

SA = Finnish Army (Suomen Armeija)

If it has the SA stamp it IS a Finnish captured Mosin, "Suomen Armeija". That means it was taken from the Russians during the Winter War and put through the Finns' arsenal. See Doug Bowser's book "Rifles of the White Death", and there are others- see this forum thread:

The 2-volume German books are pretty comprehensive on ALL variants of the MN rifles, and it is worth noting, that the German author Karl-Heinz Wrobel quotes our own Doug Bowser in his books. If you want to get serious about collecting these, or any rifle series for that matter, purchasing some good reference works is the first step!
